What do you think would've happened if the Empire had won at the end of Episode 6? I don't know who would've won between Luke & Vader, but maybe they would've destroyed the Emperor and taken control. But I'm pretty sure that all of the rebels would've been executed. What else may have happened? ![]()

Re: What if... My take on the whole Star Wars saga is that the core story of the entire tale is the redemption of Anakin Skywalker - Star Wars as a series showing his loss of innocence, his turning to "evil", and then ultimate sacrifice to save his son. It's actually a very poignant theme, IMO, and brings a great sense of completion to the end of Return of the Jedi. So for the Empire to win would have been to make senseless the run of the story, in my opinion.

Re: What if... It depends from where you decide to put a spin on the events, remember, Luke threw away his lightsabre after taking down Vader...the emperor then decided to off him. IF Vader had done nothing...they would have still been destroyed by the alliance fleet...if the alliance had been defeated, well then I'd imagine life would have gone on pretty much the same. Albeit no remaining Jedi's and a severe lack of resources for any new rebellion. What I love to think about it what would have happened if Vader had redeemed himself AND survived...that would be interesting, would the New Republic want to put him on trial for war crimes? Would he have become a Jedi and fought for their cause? What about Liea's (sp) feelings?
