Sounds cool. I can't wait to see (and hear) the show. I'm sure the kids will love it too. Maybe Buffy (the actual show) will get more fans from this.

So am I the only one not looking forward to it? I think Joss is over-extending himself as it is and eventually the quality of all of them will drop(he should be spending time doing Ripper anyway). With a cartoon thats targetted for a younger audience (I think) you can't do any of the good stories properly. I might be more enthusiastic about it but they wont have any of my fave characters voices in it (Giles, Oz and Angel).

Here is some "Preliminary Concept Artwork" for Buffy the Animated Series.

There are 16 pics including the characters. They include Joyce, Angel, Principal Snyer, Cordy and Dawn.

The style is similar to Batman: The Animated Series.

I really don't like the way that Giles is drawn, but the others are very good and a few like Xander, look a great deal like themselves.

One other thing - The Sunnydale High Library is HUGE!!! A large X-shaped conference table is surrounded by a three-story tall book collection. Nothing like the intimate, friendly space we are used to.

The website belongs to Eric Wright. According to his resume, he is the Art Director for the series.

First of all, what happened to fall 2002?

Just been quickly reading back through the thread, Sarah & David won't be voicing, so we will get different voices instead? That will take some getting used to..

I do like the idae of having Dawn there, as it fits with the idea that the monks created memories for everyone that she's always been there. They could even tell some of the stories from S1 but with a Dawn twist to them... definate possibilities here..

<snort> got Angel's hair down pat!

I'm not liking the Giles image either - it's kinda - weird, mixed with a bit of scary --

Though - whatever happend to Principal Flutie? He was there for a little while -- or are they not planning to bother with him b/c he wasn't around long?

The dragon's kinda cool - but the other demons? erm - kinda lame - but that's just me --- I'm not big on the animation --

And yeah - that's a big library -- the monks must have used some creative license when altering those memories --

Well they got an excellent voice double for Sarah for the X-Box game so maybe they'll be using her again?

[Highlander II: Though - whatever happend to Principal Flutie?]

Well, Flutie wasn't a big character. After all, Snyder is sarcastic and hostile and in league with evil, even if he doesn't know it. That opens up much more dramatic possibilities than the bland and cheery Flutie.

I hope that they can get Armin Shimerman, also known as Star Trek - DS9's Quark, to be the voice, although they may not want to spend a bunch of money on the cast.

He's able to make his voice just drip with venom.

The animated show may build up the Mayor to be the big bad guy as a regular, since that seems to be the time period they will be covering. Remember that moment in Becoming, Pt. II when Snyder calls up the Mayor to report on Buffy?

They could spend a long time telling stories of Season 2 & 3. There's a lot of potential material in just those two years.

They can even include Kendra, then Faith and what about Mr. Trick? Oh! Jenny! Maybe we can see Jenny and bashful Giles again.

I hope their making progress with this and its not just another bubble that will burst.
