3.62 : Is There In Truth No Beauty?

The 'Don't Look in the Box!' episode.

The Federation has conducted negotiations with the Medusans -- formless creatures so hideous that the mere sight of them drives humans mad. Even Vulcans are affected by their visage without the protection of a arc welding visor. The Medusans are a race with wonderful mental abilities, including navigational capabilities far exceeding those of humanoids. The Enterprise returns Medusan ambassador Kolos (Kollos?), encased in a protective container, back to his home world. He is accompanied by Dr. Miranda Jones (human, but blind and telepathic, a perfect candidate for a mind-meld with Kolos), and Larry Marvick (one of the team that designed the Enterprise's engines). Consumed by his love for Jones, Marvick attempts to murder Kolos. Driven insane by the sight of Kolos, he takes control of the Enterprise and Warps her beyond the Galaxy. Only Spock, in a mind-meld with Kolos can get them home.

It's good to see Spock back, with his brain intact ('Spock's Brain'), but unfortunately, he forgets not to look at the Medusan and is in danger of losing it again!
