3.58 : The Paradise Syndrome.

The one where Kirk gets married.

A beautiful earth-like planet is threatened by a collision with a huge asteroid. The Enterprise discover a tribe of American Indian descendents, 'seeded' on the planet by the Preservers. Kirk falls down a trapdoor under an obelisk, cannot be found, and must be left behind so that the Enterprise can destroy the Asteroid. Kirk loses his memory, marries Miramanee, and becomes Medicine Chief Kirok. Spock deciphers the obelisk writings and dicovers how to deflect the Asteroid just in time.

Although this episode centers on Kirk, his non-functioning as Captain, due to loss of memory, and the exotic location shots, make this an usual episode.
