okay - i've been working on some fic, but this question doesn't really have anything to do with that, this is just something that came to me while i was writing --

Whatever happened to 'prophecy girl' Buffy?

remember in season 1 she kept having dreams about things? (don't remember specifics - but i think one was about Angel's death, or someone's death) -

has she had any 'prophecy' dreams since that?

i don't recall any, but i wasn't really looking for them ----

Right off the top of my head, I remember that she had a warning dream that held the clue to defeating the Gentlemen when she fell asleep in class in the beginning of "Hush".

Other than that, I woul have to do some research.

No, just give Vampyre a chance to answer. He's real good at that trivia stuff. He'll be able to tell us every dream Buffy has ever had. hee, hee.

Oh, yeah, she had two Faith dreams. One that gave her the clue to defeating the Mayor and the other right before Faith's return.

And I guess you could consider her First-Slayer-induced dream in Primeval as a prophecy dream - "Be home before dawn [Dawn]." And the whole "You have no idea what you will become." foreshadowing.

There's a lot more than I thought, I just never put them all together before.

yeah - as i was typing up the question - i couldn't think of any, but, then again, i hadn't been looking for them - i just remembered that she had several back in season 1, relating to the Master - but didn't remember anything 'relevent' during season 5 -

guess we should all pick up a season and take a look and compare notes?

Here's a research tip that I live by [what, did you guys think I kept all this info in my head?]:

At Psyche Buffy Transcripts you can download PDF files of an entire season's transcripts. Just download 1 - 5 and then you can search for relevant terms, like dream, sleep or wake.

That's how I compiled the lore of Joss with regard to demons, that I posted several weeks ago.

That's also why I like to remind people not to cheat with "Who Said That?" quotes, because it would just be an easy look-up that way.

well, yeah - but where's the fun in scanning a transcript? when you can watch the ep again?

no - actually - that's great advice -

and sometimes that's a lot easier than trying to 'listen' for stuff in a show - b/c unless you've seen the episode a few times, you're still paying attn to the story and the action, and can't focus on the specific dialogue ---

and why would you cheat on the 'who said that' quotes? that's no fun ---

I have a very vague memory of a dream where Buffy and Faith are making the bed and Faith says something like 'Little sister coming to stay' to Buffy. I think it might have been Faith's dream though but I can't remember enough about it.

Sorry for taking so long finding this thread...here are all of Buffy's dreams that I could find...you have no idea how long this took me :disgust:.

Season 1

Nightmares - Buffy loses fight against Master and he bites her.

Season 2

When She Was Bad - The master coming back.
Reptile Boy - Doing 'stuff' with Angel.
Suprise - Drusilla is alive and kills Angel.
Suprise - Giles & Buffy open an office supply warehouse in Vegas.
Suprise - Location of Spike and Drusilla.
Innocence - Jenny has something to do with Angelus.
Killed by Death - Little Celia and Death.
I Only have Eyes for You - Teacher being shot & other flashbacks.

Season 3

Anne - Angel finds Buffy on a beach.
Dead Man's Party - Meets Angel in deserted school.
Faith, Hope and Trick - Angel turns on Buffy for sending him to hell.
Band Candy - Buffy is chased by answer bubble.
Amends - Buffy sees Angelus kill a maid.
Amends - Angel makes love to Buffy, bites her, Buffy sees priest.
Consequences - Faith tries to drown Buffy.
Graduation Part 2 - Faith tells Buffy of Mayor's human weakness.

Season 4

Living Conditions - Demon performing rituals on Buffy.
Hush - Little girl singing 'The Gentleman' song.
This Year's Girl - Faith (little sister's coming)
Restless - Lots of stuff involving the first slayer, cheese etc.

okay - that must have been an extreme burden, having to watch Buffy episodes

or did you look somewhere else?

and i still don't get the "cheese" thing -- that was so weird ---

That's ok...I learnt from doing it aswell.
I partly watched episodes and partly searched the net, and of course theres always the good old memory.

I don't get the cheese thing either...I'd love to talk to one of the writers about that...

And I couldn't find any for season 5 either.

yeah - the lack of 'dreams' in season 5 - i think that's what caught me on that one --- what prompted the question - there weren't any 'prophecies' in S5 - which is weird - but - hey - i'm not one of the writers ---

i am pretty sure there were prophecy dreams stagnant in the other seasons but the idea got lost in the storyline world as do many aspects of shows. Its no big deal really.

i wasn't saying it was a 'big deal'

i was just wondering, since Joss made it a point for Buffy to have dreams and nightmares that were prophecy/premonition like

and Joss seems so caught up on keeping continuity, i was just wondering if he 'forgot' to include them, or if he felt they were no longer necessary -- we just never got any explanation -
