Well!
To all you amazing poets! It would seem you have lost your way. Unless some of you write poetry professionally!

Some of those poems actually brought tears to my eyes they were so touching! I don't know whether to say keep up the good work or what! I am glad that someone out there can put feelings like those into words. I have those feelings too but I can't put them into words.

I have ommitted all emoticons in respect for your feelings

thnaks, but I'd be no good as a poet as I can ONLY think of one or two & ideas don't come at all often, so I'll stick with submittimg any that I do come up with here.

Poems?

:alienooh:

Hi all :rolly2: Just thought I would show everyone what happens to a persons mind when they train too much :blah:
Here is a feeble little poem I wrote!

Ausgate

The training goes ever on and on
From the first day it was begun
Naquadah here, Naquadah there
But Trinium hardly anywhere!

Some items come, some items go
But where that Staff is I don't know
Maybe I'll find it another day
I am determined! Come what may.

Most of the answers I get right
When one is wrong I get a fright
Especially when it's worth a lot
Can I remember? I cannot!

I go from last to first all day
And then my computer will not play
I get frustrated, I get mad!
Don't you think my life is sad

And then another day is here
I have to get my mind in gear
So back to training I must go
To see if all the answers know
And so from the first day begun
The training goes ever on and on!

Thanks Jessa

Yes I am!

Stargate SG-1. Jacks sarcasm and dry wit crack me up! Teal'c is so impressive with his coolness and respectful attitude. Daniel is great too, will miss him a lot :-( Carter, well! what can I say about her?

Star Trek, Deep Space Nine, Babylon 5, this list is endless.

It most definitely seems as if we've got a fair number of talented poets here & let's hope that it continues like it already has!

Forest Fire

Pillars of silver grey and tawny brown
Beneath blankets of lush greenery
Entwining limbs colliding peacefully
A colusseum of living beauty
It whispers sweet songs through waxy fingers
And stands
Swaying together with fresh breezes

Red tongue angrily claws
Scratches and slashes
Mercilessly
Flooding like a river burst its banks
Sparked by Man’s feeble obsession
With suicide

Blazing
A fiery cage of hellish flame
Sweeping through the sweating trees
Bringing a generation to a sorry end
Its crimson fury sinking vicious burning teeth
Into innocent skin
All because of Man’s feeble obsession
With suicide

My eyes weep not with heat
Nor smoke
Nor harsh light
But for lost life
Razed violently, fire crawling into the boughs
And ripping the limbs into sweltering chaos
Gripping like the jaws of a steel dragon
All because of Man’s feeble obsession
With suicide

Through the disaster grows a new
A fresh life drawn forth by the death of it’s parents
Straining toards the sunlight through a cloud of ash
A sheet of dismal grey
dotted with unspoiled seedlings
Reveling in nourished ground
Parent’s gift in death
But when Man dies from his feeble obsession
He wont come back.

What do you think i mean by 'mans feeble obsession with suicide?'

Definitely good there!

Trying to think up one about my favourite F1 team, but not getting that far as I haven't exactly had much time to be able to sit down & think of one.

I was flicking thru an old peotry ook I found in the drawer. One of mine is in it so...but here are a few that I reckon are really good so I thought I best share it with you lot. Enjoy!

DREAMING

Do you ever dream, ever fantasise?
About where thoughts dance like fireflies?
Do you have a world, all your own?
Where you can think when your alone?

I have three ships with golden sails,
Where'ere they go, they leave rainbow trails.
the main deck shines with a golden sheen,
And there's a mermaid for a figurine.

No-one can find me, no-one knows how,
No-one can see me stand at the prow.
No-one else watches, my ships set sail,
And I never think of hurt or betrayal.

But I can't find peace, though I look for the key,
I know it's out there beyond the sea.
Still I search for what I can't find
For it's not real, it's all in my mind.

Sarah Hummel (12)

AUTUMN

Summer has gone; the world has turned; Autumn is here.
The trees stand bare and naked; stripped of their summer coats.
Silhouetted against the skyline, worn out and dead, dark and forbidding.
The leaves underfoot crackle, brown as berries, wrinkled like nuts, the colour of fire.
The wind whistles around me, strong as a madman escaped from his chains.
As restless as a child for whom sleep will not come, strong and piercing.
The animals seek shelter from the chill night air, sleepy and drowsy, slower and slower
Their movements confined as if held by weights.

(this is not all of it, I haven't the time to write it all now)
Harry Kretchmer (12)

*more later I haven't the time now*

I had one published online, at a site that pays writers. You only get a couple of $ for poetry, but it's something. Here's the link.

http://www.fables.org/spring02/silver.html

I've also had a few poems published without getting paid. No luck with my short stories yet. I have a ton of sci-fi/fantasy poetry on my personal web site.
