Re: Do You Write Poetry?

Ben thank you for the poem you wrote me this is for you, and everyone else on the chrons!

You are a cool breeze on a hot summer day, an oasis in a desert land.
You bring comfort and joy to others through your words.
They ring true like a million songbirds.
Thank you for the peace you bring, you do not understand,
Without you the chrons would be lonely,
Like an empty land.

Re: Do You Write Poetry?

Don't worry, I'm not after a critique. Like everyone else, I just wanted to get this out there. Sorry to subject you all to this.

ME

You keep me in the darkness
You took away my peace
You leave me locked alone
Does this torture never cease?

You make my decisions
You never ask me first
You've ripped away my soul
Tell me, what is worse?

You're always with me
You're my constant friend
You deceive me with lies
Will this nightmare never end?

You've killed all my dreams
I am but a shell
You took away my hope
Now I live each day in hell

You stole away my teenage years
You blotted out the sun
You've already beaten me
You've already won

Yeah, it's so strong in an unsettlingly true kind of way.
Worry not! My new motto.

Re: Do You Write Poetry?

Thanks, Mirinda.

Don't worry, Ben and Scalem, I write poetry when things in my life just get too much. I like to tell it how it is; it puts things inpersepective for me, and it's my way of coping. And I'm sorry; every poem I've put in here has been kind of depressing, hasn't it?

Re: Do You Write Poetry?

How about a soppy love poem to brighten things up? Or make us even more depressed.

I wrote this one for my girlfriend because I'm a romantic at heart, at least that's what she says of me.

So Near (To My Heart)There is a place, deep inside;
Where love ever grows;
This small glade of my heart;
I keep locked and quietly un-shown.

Only one woman holds the key;
She rests there always;
So near and dear;
Yet without fear she smiles and plays.

The rhythmic beating of my heart;
Warms this glade of mine;
Near to my love, my place inside;
She'll rest there for all of time.

Damn lack of edit button when needed, should have previewed I guess. Oh well lesson learned. Opinions though?
