Angry Yahoo Groups...

Anyone on here use a Yahoo Group for Stargate Fiction in the adult catergory? If so you might be a bit peeved to hear that Yahoo are thinking of shutting down Adult services in Yahoo Groups due to pressure from certain religious and moral types. As a person who has spent a lot of time writing both steamy het fics and slash in both the Stargate and Westlife (Irish Boyband for you American types) fanships, I think that this is a serious restriction of our basic rights. How dare someone presume to tell me what I can and can't read / write?
I think we should all get together regardless of our fic-writing love - be it boyband slash, Stargate or anything else to save our Groups! Who's in?

NCSF-Foundation Launches Yahoo! Petition in Support of Adult Chat Groups

The National Coalition for Sexual Freedom Foundation launches our Yahoo! petition to gather signatures in support of adult chat groups. Yahoo! is one of the world's largest Internet portals, providing open communication on the Internet about adult consensual sexual activities. But after pressure from religious political extremists, Yahoo! Inc. will prohibit consenting adults from using Yahoogroups to meet, discuss, and educate other adults about alternative sexual expression. Sign the NCSF Foundation's petition demanding that Yahoo! Inc. respect free speech on the Internet.

The Yahoo! Petition is located on the NCSF website at:
http://www.ncsf-foundation.org/petition. Support our demand that
Yahoo! listen to its users and continue offering adults a safe place to educate themselves about alternative sexual expression.

The National Coalition for Sexual Freedom Foundation, Inc. protects the Internet privacy of every person signing this petition. Therefore, adding your name and e-mail address to this petition will not result in it being sold, traded, or shared with any other organization ever.

Sign now! This petition will only be available until May 1, 2002.

Yahell

Being on several of the slash boards and lists myself, it *does* get interesting over there, that's for sure.
