I must say I loved the first book and then found the rest a case of seriously diminishing returns. Wizard and Glass especially. I haven't read Wolves of the Calla either yet. I just felt that the elegance of the original vision was being trampled underfoot in King's trek towards further sales.

Re: Song of Sussanah...OUT!

Knives I am shocked! I guess we all have our opinions but I really felt Wizard and Glass was the best. Ive read Wolves and while it is almost as good I absolutely loves Wizards. I would recommend it above all others since it showed the youth of roland and gave insights into the enigma that he is on the other books.

I am normally a fan of Darth Vaderish characters but Roland is THE MAN! This guy would make Emperor Palpatine cringe with worry.

Re: Song of Sussanah...OUT!

Song Of Susannah was all right, it wasn't the best (I've actually forgotten a lot of what happened in it, it really isn't one that I read over and over). And the Wizard and the Glass...ack, no, that's my least favourite of the whole series. But hand me The Wastelands and I will read that continously!

Re: Song of Sussanah...OUT!

Song of Susanah felt like something to fill the time between Wolves of Calla and The Dark Tower, I feel he could have skipped it although the info contained it was essential to the story he could have included in Wolves and Dark Tower. My personal favourite was Wolves of Calla.
