Star Trek

Does anyone like Star Trek here? Personally, I don't like it and it bores the pants off me.

Cool

Hmm....... You might be better off discussing that on a different forum, considering this is the one for Stargate and not Star Trek.

If you are seeking a comparison however, then you may as well compare apples and oranges, because they are very different concepts from one another.

Apart from the original Star Trek which I liked because it was the first really most daring Sci Fi show to go on national TV, I disliked the rather sterile Next Generation, preferred the darker DS9, hated Voyager for it's constant moralistic stance. But the present Enterprise isn't all that bad. Watchable. Perhaps because for me it's much closer in timeline to our time.

Stargate is in our timeline and we're not asked to make too much of a leap of imagination to understand the concept behind the show, that of a device, found by accident, which can transport people to other planets.

I'm sure you would find better arguments on the actual Star Trek forum, as long as you are courteous when giving your opinion about the show and respectful of other people's opinions!

Good hunting!

Thanks Summershake,

I'll reciprocate if I ever find a "Stargate bores the pants off me" thread over here.

Duokiller -- everyone is entitled to there own opinion, but if you just post XXXX is YYYYY you aren't going to stimulate much discussion or replies. Try saying I think 'Next Generation' was sterile or 'Voyager' was too moralistic, like Anni did instead.
