An inconsistency in 'The Barrow Downs' Chapter I have decided to re-read the LOTR saga begining with The Hobbit, and I have found a little inconsistancy. As it is intimatly involved with events in the novel, I will put it down entirely in 'spoiler mode'. Frodo fumbles in his pocket to find The Ring when he awakens in the tomb, and yet it is said that the hobits' clothing has been replaced with ancient white burial shrouds. Was Frodo somehow spared this ghoulish game of dress-up? If so then why? What do you think about this? Did I miss anything? Thank you.

I did notice that, but for some reason I didn't give much thought to it. I remember Tom telling the hobbits to take the shifts off, but I don't remember if Frodo did too, or not

It would be a little akward if Frodo was the only one who still had his cloaths... Which is worse though, frolicking naked in the grass without a valid excuse, or being the only one dressed? Kinda like showering with your trunks on in the high school locker room, eh?:laugh2:

in the book Frodo wandered ahead of the others, got separated from them for a while & when he came back to look for them that's when the Wight got him. They never undressed him, he awoke to find the others all dressed up & adorned wih trinkets but no himself.
