Staying on topic.. dun dun duh.....

It is becoming rather noticable that a thread that gets anywhere beyond 2 pages likely has nothing to do with the original subject matter. For those of us here lots this is hardly a problem but for others who have to be a bit more selective in what they have time to read it can be a bit annoying to start reading the 3rd page of a thread and to find nothing to do with the subject.

Now we are not going to start closing threads and doing moderatorish things like that because that is no fun either. It would however be nice if everyone can make an effort to keep things on topic "ish". If you want to discuss something else that came up in a thread just start a new one and then perhaps post a link to it in the other thread so you can carry on that conversation else where.

Hope everyone is ok with that. Thanks

This is Great. As someone that is coming over from another site Some of the treads that I have looked at have had major problems with staying on the topic of the thread.

Right. Sciflicks.com, our 'home base' (at ease Pilot Tack! ) is pretty good about staying on topic... we have a bit of a golden rule there: 'If you have nothing good to say, then by all means say it; but if you have nothing at all to say then keep your grubby paws away from the **** ****ed keyboard!'

Yep!

P4P that is basically the rule of thumb at www.sciflicks.com ! We though are more of a movie community. And you are more of a TV show community. Hey anyone who has seen Predator go the Predator forum and go and chat with me about a modern sci fi movie classic! But see I just went off topic!

Would it be going off topic if I were to point out that Phlub was once our 'spammer in chief' and the most disreputable of the 'SQUAD outcasts'?

But this was way before my time so I shold just shut up... where is Ivanhoe when you need him!

What are you guys on? We go off subject all the time. Well, I guess we do a good job in the mess. But, that's pretty much it. Some of the movie threads are the worst.

It's hard when you do ask people, they don't even listen!
Not that I don't mind in some cases, which are specificalyl just for rambling, partying, or being daft. But when a thread has a purpose, you should try and stick to it!
