Unhappy

They started taking the show in directions I didn't particularly like ages ago. I have actually already reached the point at which it doesn't matter if I don't catch the show. For the last two weeks here in the UK I haven't been able to watch the new season six episodes because my grandson has been here and I have been sentenced to watching CBeebies, Teletubbies, Bob the Builder, Tom and Jerry, Ed, Ed and Eddy etc. I didn't really miss watching the Stargate eppys at all. Anyway, Sky One will repeat them eventually.

I will also watch Season 7 as I have watched Season 6. I enjoy some things and others switch me off entirely. As you say, there will be other shows....I'm not sure that they will come up with a concept which will grab me quite as much as the Stargate one did and I still believe that the actual concept has loads of untapped mileage, but I strongly believe that Gekko productions are not the people to tap into that. Someone else with a vision beyond a space soap opera perhaps, but not the present production team. I have watched this concept turn into a joke, with people raving about the Stargate actors as though they had turned into gods....and some of them certainly behave as though they DO believe in their own godhood. I can't abide the fandom **** that's going down because it detracts from what has been and could be a damn good sci fi show.

End of rant.......for now!

A good attitude, Skydiver. I've always held that if/when a show no longer appeals, then I've still got lots of other entertainment.

Yay, I love the voices of reason too! I'm glad there are so many on this forum.

I have thought about starting an "it's only a TV show, for crying out loud" thread, but then most of us seem to know this already, and those who don't would probably use that thread to offend people.

I get really angry about people who use personalised insults directed at actors, writers, producers etc which are just offensive and not even constructive in any way (again, I hasten to add, not many peeps on this forum, but on others).

I like the way Skydiver put it "everyone has the right to speak up, some just use it more responsibly than others". I love to read differing views on things, but blind hatred has never won me over.

Okay, thanks for my turn on the soap-box, high-horse thing.

Who's next?

Hey -- me too, me too! I want up! After all, I got the soapbox first! Mine! Mine!

(... it's alright, folks -- the bad mousie is just having a tantrum -- we can all share the soapbox, especially if we're all ranting on the same theme :evil

Actually Anni, you said it so well, stay up there. I'll vote for you as the Honest Fan President.

I've already nominated Webmouse as the Farscape We Want More Men In Tight Leather Pants Fanclub President. :upto:

Thumbs down No.

Every time the character opens his mouth onscreen, I fall asleep.

Ba'al kicks the robe offa nuby in the villian category. Ba'al is spooky, he's a cold blooded nutbar.

Yu is interesting since we don't know how he'll act and react. He's helped earth once or twice, and apparently we (earth) can play him. it makes him more interesting

then again, i though maybourne got interesting in chain reaction when he helped jack. prior to that point...he was a cliche villian.(us vs them, i'm taking care of earth, to hell with morals) YAWN

Nuby...nuby is about as threatening as my chihauha as a guard dog (all 3 pounds of her, cateracts and all). he's a cliche ridden saturday morning serial kind of villian. my reaction is the same as Jack's 'puh-leese. no one talks like that'

(well . . . my chihuahua thinks she's a guarddog . . .)

Hathor! Hathor! Hathor! I think if her First Prime ever thaws her out, she's going to be ****ed . . . and Nuby had better locate a pew to hind under! :laugh2:

I have to say that Daniel is a valued member of the SGC and no one can replace him, not even Jonas (Corin). I had to vote for 'Not sure...Im a fence sitter!!', this is because Jonas hasn't grown on me, since his first appearence in season 5.
