Talking Jerry's movies!

Dave.....If you want to view a list of Jerry's movies go to www.imdb.com (internet movie data base)and type in his name. I was surprised to see how many things he's done. But I think,
his more recent movies have put him in a bigger spotlight. His roles aren't small ones and I think he'll get more recognition and better scripts will come to him. Obviously, I voted that his career is about to take off!

Maybe his career is about to take off, I started this thread only because of the all posts discussing whether he is a great actor or not. I don't really have any personal opinion, except that a lot of his work was as a teenager, and he seems to want a directorial career rather than acting.

Why is 'Mission to Mars' so bad?

I haven't seen it myself, but no one here seems to like it. Even Padders hates it!

Talking Mars

I didn't hate "Mission to Mars", but it was no "Independence Day" (one of my favorite movies). The other Mars movie "Red Planet" was bad, in my opinion. "Mission to Mars" was definately better than that one. And it had a better cast of actors (again, just my opinion).

I quite liked Mission to Mars, actually. It had several actors that I really rate, even if Tim Robbins isn't in it enough for my liking. It is almost worth watching for the cinematography alone.

As for Jerry O'Connell - whatever happened to him? The last thing I saw him in (apart from a Sliders re-run) was in Crossing Jordan, I don't even think he was a titles character.
He seemed to be doing great for a while, with that role in Scream 2, and then a fairly major role in Mission to Mars. He is almost a case for "Where are they now?" - whereas I expected him to do big things.
