| S P O I L E R S Keegan de Lancie Voyager`s "Q Two" — it`s a family thing Author: AntonyF Date: 1/21/01 The upcoming Voyager episode "Q Two" not only sees John de Lancie reprise his role as Q for the first time in four years, but also an appearance by his real life son, Keegan de Lancie, as Q`s on-screen son. Keegan follows in the footsteps of both his father and mother, being the third family member to star in Star Trek. Mom Marnie Mosiman starred in TNG`s "Loud as a Whisper" as one of Riva`s chorus. In the episode, because Captain Janeway and the crew of the U.S.S. Voyager were so instrumental in Q`s quest to have a child, he decides to make `Aunt Kathy` teach his son some responsible virtues. Although appearing to be fully grown, the younger Q proves harder to handle than his irascible father, and with his omnipotent powers, disciplining the youngster proves not only impossible, but exceptionally dangerous as well. It will be John de Lancie`s third role in Voyager, and ratings has surged on his previous appearances in the show. 15-year-old Keegan de Lancie has so far tended to work with his parents. Alien Voices, the audiobook company owned dad John and Leonard Nimoy (Spock), used his vocal talents in "The Time Machine.". The audiobook starred mom, dad, brother Owen, Roxann Dawson (B`Elanna), Andrew Robinson (Garak) and Armin Shimerman (Quark). He is quite the singer, having sung on the Devil`s Advocate soundtrack and having a role as a choir boy in The Velocity of Gary. He also had a guest role in the season three Ally McBeal episode "Seeing Green" where mom Marnie starred as his on-screen mother. Q`s return actually goes against an earlier interview with Kenneth Biller, where he said he was reluctant to use Q as he saw him as very TNG (obviously Barclay, Troi and the Ferengi aren`t TNG). It was later hinted by Ken Biller that Q would return, and he only recently confirmed it in an interview. SFX Online recently also "exclusively" reported that Q was coming back. However it was actually TrekWeb that first reported Q`s return, even giving the episode name, a long time before Biller or SFX. The episode is directed by LeVar Burton and is set to air on Wednesday March 14 2001. |

| I saw this.. what ya think... Q's teenaged son Q2, a spoiled child with omnipotent powers, is dumped in the lap of his reluctant Aunt Kathryn Janeway for a week-long rehabilitation period, after which his reinstatement will be considered by the Continuum judges. With the child's powers temporarily stripped, the young Q2 begins to make progress, but a rebuff from his father puts Q2 back to square one and the Voyager crew in danger. | This should be interesting... Q is rather interesting sometimes. You've got to be careful how you play omnipotent beings. And if the rumors about the new series is anything to go by, there will be no Q. ![]() Hopefully they'll do a movie with them.... or not... ![]() |
