Doctor Who is famous for its low budget effects and props. e.g. Everybody knows that the lights on the top of the Daleks were from scrapyard Mini's.

But what was the shows most effective use of junk?

The Tardis was first discovered in a Scrap Yard in the original episode, so does that make it a piece of junk itself?

I'm sure they didn't purchase a brand new Call Box for the set. It probably was a retired Call Box found in some junk yard.
