Hello fellow Canadians! I'm trying to get a new thread going.

Well, it's almost February..... when the acting and production crews gather to start shooting the new and last Season of Stargate SG-1. I hope they go out with a bang!!!.... and straight into the feature movie. I hope we get to see lots of Michael Shanks as Dr. Jackson or "the voice of Thor". Maybe he will be doing some stage plays in Vancouver, then I can go see him act live!!! (I live in Vancouver) I got to see him on the stage in Feb 1998 in "Hamlet". He was terrific.

Yeah, he is leaving at the end of season 5 , but he is hoping to be in the second Stargate movie. Michael Shanks probably won't be in season 6 either.

I just came back from Wolf SG4 in London. Mr Shanks was asked several times about his future plans. He was non-committal. He said that there is no plan for being involved with Season 6 at this time. He said he would not be adverse to any involvement. He just finished filming a movie in Toronto. He said he is hoping for more stage work.

I agree, He brought compassion and sensitivity to the team. If he's not there, then who will stop Jack from making some rash decisions? Sam could try, but he could just order her.
And if she refused it would be insubordination.
I hope that they don't replace him too fast, because Sg-1 are still
dealing with the loss.
I hope that he comes back in season six, even for just a couple of cameos. That last seen in Revelations gave me hope.
