Red face

Thanks Sky........ I did go there and read it, but I'm afraid this man rubs me up the wrong way all the time. Instead of coming over as friendly, he strikes me as being patronising and very smoothtalking. I was interested in his comment that he notes people who are rude and ignores their posts. Well that's the way to get an even opinion....

Something tells me that this guy should be big enough to be able to take the rough with the smooth, but apparently he isn't.

I was also interested to see that they consider their main demographic audience to be between 30 and 45! Wow...... okay......so how come there are so many youngsters on these lists and forums and exactly where are they getting their information from? The cons perhaps? Well I wonder if it occurred to any of these cretins who produce this show that the only people who can afford to attend cons are adults with good jobs and they are naturally going to be within that age group.

However, in my opinion, there are just as many younger viewers as there are older. If this is definitely the case, then far from being up to date, these people from Stargate are completely out of touch with their viewing population.

This man is full of it....... cr**p I mean.

I am seriously considering not watching this show again. I am so fed up with it..... and the cr**p that surrounds it. Sky.....YOU could do a damn sight better than this cretin Mallozzi..... any day of the week.

I agree with you there Anni, after the Uk Cons I got so many emails from the younger generation explaining that they couldn't afford to go etc.

It must be nearly impossible to get an accurate figure or viewer age groups unless you ask the question in a situation that is targeting the majority of the audience.

For example, you ask the question at a Con and you will probably get age groups between 25 - 35. Ask it on this board and you'll probably get a majority of below 25. I have an email update list which used to ask for age/sex group details (around 700 members). Because I'm not naming anyone I'm sure my members wouldn't mind me posting this information plus I stopped taking the details last year (Aug/Sep) so they aren't 100% accurate any more but it gives you an idea.

Code:
Sex ;

Male : 42 %
Female : 58 %
Code:
Ages ;

< 16	   : 187
17 - 25	   : 251
26 - 35	   : 189
36 - 50    : 46
50 +	   : 15
These stats are only representative of people who have access to the internet and have joined my list - not everybody who watches the show may have that advantage (hence the young income earning age bracket being the highest imo).

Anyway interesting comments Anni, don't leave the show though .... just yet

JM's remarks on age

Well, on what they perceive fandom to be - the 30 to 45 market, which is actually more along what the CSI market is.

Anyway, I don't knowwhere the demographics come from, or if they're just his guess from his brief sojourns into the internet world where he interacts with a very small group of fans.

Most of the fans I know are female and in their 30s. I'm sure there are tons of younger fans, but only the more fanatical and more well-off can afford the Stargate conventions (face it, with prices like $190 for the high-end ticket plus hotel and airfare, you can't be a starving student and do it). And the fans who can pay to travel the long distances are usually over 30, and these are the fans that the cast and crew will interact with at conventions, except for those in larger cities where fans can walk in off the street and get a day pass.

However, if they're marketing the show to the 30-45 year old market, just what the heck was Anise doing on the show? That kind of casting appeals to the male hormonally driven teen boy set.

Cool

Especially since the 30-45 age set is primarily female according to Mallozzi! If you ask many on this forum they will tell you that they are 20 and under and mainly female of course. So god only knows why Anise. I think maybe that was eye candy for the actors and crew and not for the viewers! A sort of antithesis of Sam and Janet as professional military women and therefore not suppose to be sexy!

And btw...... I thought the US already HAD Daffy Duck as president!

I'd love to know WHY. Blast, now there's a question to ask Mr. Mallozzi. What on earth possessed you to bring on the Tok'ra Bimbo...

LOL on the eye candy. I can just picture it now...all that drooling. But how about that system lord lady in Summit? In the black?
Osiris however I thought looked lovely.

As for our pres: Ah, come on Anni, I like *Tony*. Poor Daffy, never gets a break because he's from Texas. I am too so I guess that's my problem. Moving to California wasn't necessarily a help either. <g>

Talking

Yes Osiris always manages to look fairly classy, but don't you think it's interesting that the actress always hugs herself (arms folded tightly across her chest) in a very defensive posture. I find it so, because it means she's either decided to play the character (who was traditionally very overtly male) as though he/she feels slightly uncomfortable still with her/his new body, or the actress herself is not comfortable to revealing clothing, possibly because she is very very thin and has a bony chest. Unlike Morrigan (the System Lord lady in black) who was like the old song "June is busting out all over!" She had to have had boob tape to keep herself in that costume.

I also imagine that the whole male cast, actors and crew were slipping and sliding around in the puddles of drool. I'll bet it was the funniest thing to see!
