Re: Who Would You Marry??

Agreed, they all do look feminine, and I appreciate thats an elf thing, I wont debate that Legolas is cool, he was one of my favourite chars in the book, but not someone I would be attracted to.

Another sign that the film has forever altered our perceptions of the characters

Re: Who Would You Marry??

yes I beleive it does too, as I said, Legolas was one of my favourite chars in the book, but not in the film, but that doesnt matter to me, I still go off the book anyway, I still love the concept of Tom Bombadil despite the film cutting him out

I have had the biggest crush on Sean Bean for so long... His depiction of Boromir really impressed me.

So yeah, Boromir it is.

Re: Who Would You Marry??

I actually thought that Elrond wasn't elfly enough in the move, added to that I kept expecting him to have say 'I'v had a revelation' a la the Matrix... I can't remember the actor's name, senior moment!

*sorry, diverted myself*

but, to get back to the point, I thought the elves should've been more androgynous, definintely.

And HOW could I have forgotten Eomer?!?! Grrrrrowwwwwl! There's a guy who'd sling you over his horse and take you back to his hut... to do his washing! Good looking, but a bit of an MCP.

Re: Who Would You Marry??

Nah, Eomer has a kind of...welll forgive me, but a rodenty look about him!

And the actor to which you refer is Hugo Weaving (had to look it up, it was on the tip of my tongue and it would've bugged me all night!) And I thought he was pretty groovy as Elrond...being the chief elf and all, it was cool that he wasn't all blonde haired and shiny faced like the rest.

Merry and Pippin are quite cute, but I'm still sticking with that manly man, Aragorn!

Re: Who Would You Marry??

It was cool, as you say, that he wasn't all Aryan like the other elves, but he'll always be agent Smith to me, his voice is so gravelly and distinctive.

Actually, I'm having a vote for Elrond! He's an interesting older-man type (having lived for millenia), and shouldn't make me watch football when I could be reading instead.

Hobbits just don't do it for me, I'm afraid.

Lol, yeah, ok, I did expect him to suddenly say to Aragorn "Mr Anderson" or something. Hehe.

Re: Who Would You Marry??

I can't beleive I've never posted in this thread>.> Maybe I'm thinking of someplace else.*shrugs* I would marry Samwise Gamgee in a heart beat. that is before he goes off and marries Rose and has 13 kids.

For a slight info thing. Jessa had a loverly wedding to Frodo Baggins hosted online. long before Acsifi joined into the Chronicles Network. I did the decorations. Oh it was beautiful.^_^ <3

I'm just quoting myself to say:

I saw Priscilla Queen of the Desert last night, and I don't think I could ever view any of Hugo Weaving's characters as attractive any more! It's hard to lust after a guy when he's wearing full drag and six-inch stilettoes..... he's got a really bizarre face, hasn't he?

Re: Who Would You Marry??

indeed he has

Just on Elrond... he isn't supposed to look conmpletely elvish - he is Half-Elven after all. Elrond is also described by Tolkein as having dark hair. Age would possibly be an issue as he shouldn't have aged since he chose the Elven path.
