| I think everything i love about this ep has already been mentioned - the Spike/Giles name thing, the British thing, when Spike fell off the counter and screamed, actually there was nothing in this ep i didnt absolutely adore. Theres just one thing i have to mention that i dont think anybody else has - Michelle Branch and her performance at the end. The song is so beautiful, it fits the sequence of shots perfectly, and this song made me go look her up and now i'm gonna go buy her album, so kudos to her and to whoever made it possible for her to appear on the show ![]() Also, i feel like i have to mention The Kisses, particularly the Buffy/Spike one, wow ![]() ![]() man did i grin like a fool when i saw that ![]() xxx |

| Michelle Branch's performance at the end of this episode is excellent and the song is perfect for the closing scenes -- very well done -- btw - Michelle's album - excellent! it's called "The Spirit Room" for anyone who was wondering -- My fave part of this episode - Buffy's line - "A vampire with a soul? How lame is that?" actually - that whole scene from when Buffy screams to just before Spike goes on a yapping spree and won't shut up --- |

| lol yeah that line/scene was pretty wicked ![]() I thought it was really cool how the majority of the ep was hilarious and filled with humour, and then the last 5 minutes were really sad and moving (and i guess the first couple minutes as well). xxx |

| Okay - I watched this the other day, and I want to know -- If they all have 'forgotten' - then how do they know that vampires are real? and how do they remember all the other stuff? Was Willow's spell only strong enough to make them forget who they were, but remember everything else? Or, forget who they were and only the events of the last several days? I know - I'm in that 'over-analyze' mode - but, still, it really got me that they remember everything else - like monsters are real and such - but not who they are --- I understand Buffy knowing how to fight the vampires and kill them - that's a subconscious part of who she is as the slayer - same with Spike's vampire face, or his and Giles' accents -- or the little looks that Willow and Tara give each other --- that's all part of their subconscious selves but the stuff about the vampires - that got me --- how do they know that? |

| To make excuses for the writers - it's probably very similar to the other things that they remember. Fear of vampires and, in Buffy's case, the desire to fight them are ingrained into their personalities now. Seeing the monsters at the door in their vamp faces, just clicked in their minds. Amnesia is a funny thing. You can't remember your name, but you remember how to drive or who is President of the US? I saw a show once about a guy with a mental condition that meant that he couldn't remember his parents. He just thought they were nice older people that cared about him, but he had no memory of them other than that. He was fine about remembering everything else, but he just couldn't make the mental connection to the faces of his mother and father. Besides, since this spell of forgetfulness was caused by an actual spell, the writers are free to make up the rules. |

| yes yes - but I'm 'pick apart' / 'continuity' woman -- so I like for the explanations to be there - I know they can have the spell do whatever they want - they're the writers, but sometimes they forget about the little things that the viewers will pick up on - It was just something that kind of threw me off as I was watching it - they weren't remembering anything else, but they remembered vampires -- I just like to start discussions... ![]() |

| Its understandable, i do exactly the same for the X-Files, tho it can be quite hard with such a complicated myth-arc lol ![]() Quote:
I finally was able to get it the other day - its really great! The album version of Goodbye To You is quite a ways different from the one played at the end of the ep, its still pretty cool though. xxx | |
