Re: X-Men 3

I saw X-Men 3 the other day at a staff screening. I was completely glued to the screen - it was amazing!!! However I was slightly disappointed with the lack of Angel in it - in all the publicity running up to the release it came across as though he was a major player in the movie but in fact he does very little in it. It was a change from the previous two ... obviously because of the change in the director ... but it works. A couple of people I know however disagree with me - they were quite disappointed with it. Rich was slightly annoyed that they had adapted the Phoenix story. I didn't really believe the press when they were all saying that this was the final installment but after having seen the movie I finally see it as the end of the X-Men ... unfortunately . My friend Dave didn't like the fact that the ending was around San Franscico. For me it kinda had more of an impression though seeing as I have been to San Fran and been to those iconic landmarks that are used in the movie's finale. It made it all the more impressive. I liked the fact that there was a major influx of newer mutants although I just wish they had the time to develop them more. One thing that annoyed quite a bit was that they made the majority of the Brotherhood members punks, goths or alternative people. It kinda says to me that the people who belong to these subcultures are people to be feared which annoyed me.
