Ned: John Corbett...
Hmmmm I seem to notice quite a few other out of place choices rather. The Hound and the Mountain are two. Also Hodor and Varys. All of them are played by actors with quite a different racial background to what I pictured .
I thought Varys was described as being pretty damn pale and powdery looking. Gregor and Sandor are both knights of the westerlands and are therefore no darker than the Lannisters or even the Tyrells. The stormlords, dornishmen and lords of the dornish marches I pictured to be darker though. Houses like Dondarrion and even Tarly.
Also Hodor has giant blood in him supposedly and I guess we can expect that the blood in him that isn't giant is northern and I always imagined the northerners to have a very pale complexion.

You haven't mentioned a Littlefinger yet but I thought Gary Oldman would suit that role better than he would Davos.

I think Gary Oldman is too old for Davos. I think Edward Norton would be a good Littlefinger, he does sardonic pretty well.

Re: A Game Of Thrones: The Movie

Bear with me here because I know King Leonidas and Eddard Stark are very different characters but what about Gerard Butler for Ned? Don't know if someone has mentioned it already but...

Eddard Stark

...Tell me that isn't a true Eddard Stark!

Oh I think so

Re: A Game Of Thrones: The Movie

I love Gerard Butler, and now that you mention it I agree, I think he could make a very nice Eddard Stark.

I would like to see him though as one of the characters who survives...you know...so he could be in the following movies

Re: A Game Of Thrones: The Movie

I was actually thinking Gerard Butler would be good and that actor who played the Prince in A Knights Tale, James Purefoy I think, but not sure in what role

James McAvoy might be good for Robb or Jon Snow

After watching Balck Snake Moan I imagine Christina Ricci as Shae

just a few ideas

Christina Ricci as Shae? Isn't Shae supposed to be the epitome of sexpot? I personally find nothing, absolutely nothing, attractive about Miss Ricci.

Re: A Game Of Thrones: The Movie

if you want Gerard Butler in the following films, cast him as Ser Jorah Mormont. the only disimilarity to the descrition of Ser Jorah is that he's balding... having said that tho... he does love (lust more like i suppose) Dany, and how could she turn Gerard Butler down?

GB as Garlan Tyrell perhaps?
Stannis even? or Davos?

Have to agree with you Boaz, Christina Ricci isn't all that... she certainly plays, doll-faced wierdo very well, but sex-kitten? i don't think so.

Oh man, if this date is correct, it'd be the best Christmas present ever! (Gerry is my number 1 ) Of course, I would like him to play a character that does not end up getting his head lopped off, but he would make a good Eddard.

If that date is correct, I'll eat my keyboard and wash it down with nitroglycerine.

What??? Here's another point I must think you are breathing too much of that Mountain State air.

After seeing The Opposite of Sex, Monster and Black Snake Moan, she can act and is very attractive.

My choise for Cersei: Darryl Hannah. Think Elle in Kill Bill.

Oh, and Boaz, we can have a keyboard-eating and nytroglycerine-drinking slumber party on December 12. Anyone else interested, join us on GRRM's lawn in Sante Fe.

Re: A Game Of Thrones: The Movie

Sorry if any of these are repeats, just a few off the top of my head:

The Hound - Ray Stevenson
Tyrion Lannister - Toby Jones
The Queen of Thorns - Maggie Smith
Sam Tarly - James Corden
Jon Snow - Thomas Dekker
Qwyburn - Brad Dourif
Strong Belwas - Omid Djalili

We may have to postpone our keyboard chomping, nitro shots party... I'm thinking someone was just a little clever with PhotoShop or the sorts. I immediately went to various websites to get more info, and none of these characters has this project listed in their filmography.

It is sad...

Darryl Hannah is a bit old for Cersei me thinks - but maybe a few years ago

and Boaz - watch Black Snake Moan and see if your opinion changes - it is unlike any role I've seen her play before and when she is a little more curvy she is a very attractive woman, she just is a bit skinny lately

I see shae as little and curvy and someone who does the demure/flirty/manipulative act very well after watching that I could imagine her as Shae

Natalie Portman came to mind as well but don't think she could do the really dirty flirty, but she almost did in Cold Mountain
