Re: A Game Of Thrones: The Movie I agree completely that you can't load up on stars for a real movie, but if my list was: Ned - Viggo Mortensen Cersei - Barbara Schoenhofer Littlefinger - Timm Meyers Catelyn - Joan Moore Stannis - Damien Garcia Theon - Greg Peterson Who are these actors? Just friends of mine, all except for Viggo. Again, except for Viggo, they are almost unknown. How about these real nominees... Ser Dontos - Ted McGinley, from Happy Days and Married, With Children infamy. Jeor Mormont - Fred Gwynne, he's a lot more than just Herman Munster. Jorah Mormont - Sean Bean.

Re: A Game Of Thrones: The Movie Dead thread, I know, but I didn't want to get panned for starting a new one... Agree about Fred Gwynne. He's totally Lord Mormont. Here are my suggestions: Maester Aemon - Anthony Hopkins (heavily made up) Tywin Lannister - got got got to be Alan Dale (Caleb Nicol from OC, Bradford Meade from Ugly Betty, Vice President in West Wing)

Re: A Game Of Thrones: The Movie Alan Dale as Tywin is an inspired choice! good one seb Anthony Hopkins would be better used in a different role, should he ever 'deign' to appear in a film like this. Varys perhaps, or Barristan Selmy

Re: A Game Of Thrones: The Movie I was browsing the movies at Target the other day... and I saw Shae. I was looking for a birthday present for a friend, when I found a double feature Big Trouble in Little China/Flight of the Phoenix. Never saw Phoenix, but I loves me some Big Trouble! Anyway, that's beside the point... Shae was on the cover of some Dukes of Hazzard direct to video release. Anyway, Shae was standing with her back to the camera and looking back over her shoulder while wearing her best Daisy Dukes. <Boaz's adolescent fantasies start up again.> Sorry. I'm not saying she's gorgeous, I'm just saying she's Shae. IMDB says her name is April Scott. I don't know if she can act, but from the fact that she's in some Dukes remake of a remake I'd guess not.

| Re: A Game Of Thrones: The Movie While reading the books only one actor came to mind when GRRM was describing a character - Dwayne (The Rock) Johnson as Khal Drogo. | Re: A Game Of Thrones: The Movie Dwayne Johnson is physically imposing. He'd make a good Drogo. From those pics... the hair looks like Drogo's... Johnson and Michael Clarke Duncan are both massive, but compared to each other they look normal. |

Re: A Game Of Thrones: The Movie I will also agree with The Rock as Drogo. When I first started reading this series he was the first person that came to mind, he has the perfect physical traits for Drogo.

Re: A Game Of Thrones: The Movie I agree about the Rock. He'd have to have a beard though, wouldn't he? I can't remember if Khal Drogo was clean shaven or not... I was also thinking... Jeremy Irons as either -Aeron Damphair, or -Stannis Baratheon I think he'd make a great Damphair.

Re: A Game Of Thrones: The Movie seb, I'm thinking Drogo was clean shaven. As for Jeremy Irons, I think he's not big enough to play one of the Greyjoy brothers. But I think if he shaved his head, he'd be great as Tywin or Stannis, especially Tywin. Then again, he could do Oberyn, Littlefinger, or Roose easily.

Re: A Game Of Thrones: The Movie I dismiss the idea of Jeremy Irons as Tywin out of hand! Haha, only because I can only see Tywin as Alan Dale. I see Littlefinger as a slightly (only slightly, mind) smaller than the average man, with dark hair and a face a lot less gaunt than mr Irons. I'll need to meditate on this further, I find it very interesting to attempt to match ASoIaF characters with their real-world counterparts. Has anyone come up with a decent Cersei yet?

Re: A Game Of Thrones: The Movie His hair, not his beard. I can't remember a single refence to a thick, long beard, and I think it would have been mentioned somewhere. I always imagined him clean-shaven, if not naturally without facial hair.
