Re: A Game Of Thrones: The Movie

Since it'll never happen I feel free to "cast" actors at various stages in their career, so I dont really worry too much about age...

Great call on Orlando Boom as Jon Snow...Ive been trying to fit someone into that part and hadnt found a fit. I think you might have it!
Brad Pitt - no question there...Jaime!

I already have Edward Norton as Theon Greyjoy! Im afraid he's stuck there now. For Littlefinger Ive been going back and forth between Steve Buscemi and a minor tv character actor whose name escapes me. He played "Jack" on The Profiler.

For Tywin may I suggest Rutger Hauer?

Also give Russell Crowe a try as the Hound and you may be pleasantly surprised! Mickey Rourke is a great suggestion too!

Catelyn has always been a young Emma Thompson for me.

I think Im going to stick Kevin Spacey in as Roose Bolton next time and see what that does for me....although John Malkovich is a great suggestion also.

Arya - Dakota Fanning (slightly older) I dont worry too much about the "horse face" thing, throw some mud on her and mess her hair up...

Joffrey is either that kid on "Seventh Heaven" when he was young or the younger brother on "Joan of Arcadia"

Renly - Colin Farrell

Meera Reed - Natalie Portman (slightly younger)

Tyrion - Denzel Washington

Characters I cant seem to cast because my imagination & GRRM's description keep anyone real from fitting in:
Eddard, Robert, Cersei, Daenerys, Stannis

ok...Ill be bit flexible with Tyrion

Just thought of some more
Dolorous Edd: Lance Henriksen
Jorah Moromont: Harvey Keitel (I know it may seem odd at first but give it a try. Remember the charisma from Resevoir Dogs)

Re: A Game Of Thrones: The Movie

If we're going that route, I nominate either "Benji" or Nicole Kidman to play Tyrion.

Re: A Game Of Thrones: The Movie

LOL!
You know Estrada is doing voice over work on Sealab...so at least he is getting a paycheck.
I like the idea of Benji! Thats thinking outside the box..I love it!

Im now leaning more towards casting the actor formerly known as "Mr T." as Tyrion

"When I say "talk to the hand", I mean "talk to the Hand" fool!"

I have a better suggestion: actors who aren't typecast! I'd rather not watch people I see on tabloid covers playing characters from my favorite series. It would be wounding.

Sorry, but... blech.

Re: A Game Of Thrones: The Movie

How about if we triple-cast Arnold Schwartzenegger as Bran, Tyrion, and Three-Finger Hobb?

Could you imagine the emotional weight behind the scene where Tyrion meets Bran at Winterfell? And I'd pay money to see Arnie cooking up stew for the Night's Watch.

Haha, I'd pay money to see Arnie do anything but what he's doing these days.

I agree, my fellow Californian. Unless it's another "6th Day". You couldn't pay me to sit through that one again.

But I digress.

not too sure about McCounaghey's acting abilities as have never seen any of his films, but he looks like he could be a Jaime in that picture. Maybe it's because he's bold...
