Re: A Game Of Thrones: The Movie Excellent list mate. A few strange choices but a very comprehensive list none the less. I think that George RR Martin would sell the film rights to his books - most authors would. The money would be too much.

Re: A Game Of Thrones: The Movie I think Colin Farrell would be a bit old, too. Isn't Theon around twenty? Very comprehensive list, though. A lot of thought put in. The main problem I have with your list is that the majority of actors you named are American... and I just can't picture Westeros with a Yankee twang. A few I think are really miscast - Harrison Ford as the Blackfish for one, Patrick Stewart as Tywin (looks right, but just too much of a nice guy/hero typecast - I'd be thinking Professor X the whole time), Kate Winslet as Lysa. Dakota Fanning and Alexis Bledel are just plain no's, as is Tom Welling. And I just couldn't cope with seeing Steve Buscemi in the Seven Kingdoms. That would very quickly shatter the illusion, I think. Good calls though on Jude Law as Jaime and Jeremy Sumpter as Joffrey. Though I'll stick with my belief that if ever it goes ahead, it should be cast with unknowns. If only for budgetary concerns - I shudder at the thought of the millions of dollars worth of talent you've listed there - deserving or no.

Re: A Game Of Thrones: The Movie Yes, Theon is around that age. Collin is older, but there are not to many fitting actors in the age of 19...well, probably there is, but anyway I do not know their names. I would also like to see more brittish actors...I always imagin westerosi speaking brittish dialect (The wildling speak scottish dialect in my mind), any suggestion of fitting brittish actors? I would want Antony Head for exampel, but I don't know in what role... What's wrong with Dakota Fanning? I think that she is a great actress, and there are'nt really alot of those in the age of ten. And I really want a talented actress to play the role of Arya... And I do think that Buscemi would make a great Rattleshirt. ![]() The problem with unknowns is that it's quite hard to make a list of those, because they are...well, unknown. ![]() If there would be a movie (I doubt it), I too would like many of the characters to be played by rather unknown actors, otherwise it would get *real* expensive. But this is just fantasy, the budget of our mind is endless. ![]()

Re: A Game Of Thrones: The Movie Well, obviously you can't make a list of unknowns, was just making the point that I'd prefer that to name actors. And Dakota Fanning, while a good actress, is just too cherubic. Remember Jeyne Poole used to call Arya 'Horseface'. While not ugly, I don't picture her as blond and round of face. And I can't picture young Dakota weilding Needle to such deadly effect, either. She'd go better as Myrcella, perhaps. Though I couldn't name an actress off the top of my head who would fit Arya's image - another reason for wide-ranging auditions. And I second Emily Browning as Meera Reed. And from the same film - maybe Timothy Spall as Janos Slynt. British, to boot.

Re: A Game Of Thrones: The Movie Nice! ![]() You forgot to add Hodor, who is Bran's small weasley friend with loads of one-liners, played by Rob Schneider, and who follows him on his adventures and gets into trouble and gets rescued by Arnie/Bran and Ser Ed

| Re: A Game Of Thrones: The Movie Anyone else think Sir Ian McKellan would make a good Late Walder Frey? He's such a good actor that I'm sure he'd be killer in that role (no pun intended). Or he'd be a good Balon Greyjoy, although he might be a little long in the tooth for that role. -Harrison Ford should never come near a GRRM movie, should there ever be one. IMO, he should have quit while he was ahead and stopped making movies after Indiana Jones. (Airforce One... oh, the agony!) Last edited by AryaUnderfoot : 14th April 2005 at 07:18 PM. | Re: A Game Of Thrones: The Movie I do not know about the younger generations of characters, but as far as some of the "adults" I do have a few thoughts: Queen Cersei Baratheon = Demi Moore (with dyed hair and colored contact lenses) King Robert Baratheon = John Goodman (big, fat, drunk and loud) Ned Stark = Liam Neeson Catlyn Stark = Cate Blanchett Jaime Lannister = Brad Pitt (a perfect fit as previously mentioned) Tywin Lannister = Patrick Stewart or Kelsey Grammer Littlefinger = Edward Norton Roose Bolton = Jeremy Irons Jon Snow = Orlando Bloom Barristan Selmy = Sean Connery (who else?) Red Viper of Dorne = Benecio Del Toro or Pearce Brosnan Sandor Clegane = Mickey Rourke Beric Dondarrion = Clive Owen The Mountain = Ralf Moeller |
