Re: A Game Of Thrones: The Movie

I'm going to say Djimon Hounsou for Jalabhar Xho.

Jalabhar is a peacock. He does nothing. Better to use Hounsou as the captain or the first mate on the Cinnamon Wind... Quhuru Mo and Xhondo respectively.

Good thinking Boaz, He would work well for either of those two as well. (Honestly had forgotten about them, good thing I am doing a reread!)

Re: A Game Of Thrones: The Movie

LoW, mayhaps Jalabhar will become a prime character towards the end. I commented to a friend today that I could not believe that Terrence Howard took the role of Tony Stark's sidekick/protege in Iron Man. Howard is on Hollywood's hotlist. I told my friend that Howard should have waited for a superhero of his own for the probable Avengers movie. My friend told me that in the Iron Man comics that Howard's character later dons the armor and becomes the superhero War Machine. I quit reading comics in 1981 so I never knew about War Machine... mayhaps Jalabhar will rise up to become a major character as well.

Straying from AGOT the movie and the HBO series ASOIAF, what do you think of Djimon Hounsou as T'Challa aka The Black Panther?

Re: A Game Of Thrones: The Movie

I actually had the same thought about Jalabhar, that perhaps he may play a bigger role later. Though what that role could be is anyone's guess. (insert next crazy theory here)

After seeing Iron Man, my husband told me the same thing, that his character later becomes the suit wearer in some capacity. (He also did not read comic books forever so wasn't completely sure about that). Although I rather liked Terrence in that role.

Unfortunately I am not well spoken with comic books characters. I have never actually read one (that I can remember anyways), so I'm embarrassed to say I had never heard of The Black Panther. But after a Google search and a little Wikipedia info, I would say Hounsou could play that character. Although I almost hope they don't do it, I am getting a little tired of all the comic book movies that have come out lately. I am looking forward to the next Batman, but that's about it. Although I did enjoy Iron Man, much more than I thought I would.

What do you think of Ewan McGregor playing Ned or Jamie?

Oded Fehr would be good for playing Khal Drogo.

Re: A Game Of Thrones: The Movie

Jaime and Ned are quite the opposite, so I don't think the same actor could fit for both of them.

He has a "good guy" face so he can't be Jaime, and he is not cold enough to be Ned.

Personally I think Ewan McGregor has a Tully looks, he could be Edmure or Robb if he were younger.

Ewan McGregor would be a great Edmure Tully. It describes him in the books as looking quite robust and stocky like all the Tully males but I think if you dressed Ewan up in some lordly clothes and gave him a bit of a beard then he'd fit the bill almost perfectly.

Too old. Jon is only 14 at the beginning of AGOT and while I don't suggest a 14 year old play his part, I certainly wouldn't agree that a 37 year old play him. That's right, Jared Leto was born in 1971...

You could give him a shave, and give him the right hair, but there would be too much in his face that would give away his age. The actor would be older than the character's "father!" more likely uncle am i right?

The actor should be no older than 18 or 20. This gives for some maturity but they could still pass as young enough. Same goes for every other character of course. I don't expect a 16 year old to play Sansa because chances are they'll have a chest... Sansa is a 12 year old girl.

Re: A Game Of Thrones: The Movie

Wow! No kidding! I had no idea the actor was that old. I just saw him in a movie recently and he looked sooooo young. Older than Jon, but his facial features and hair worked... Gah! Thirty-seven. Good grief. * head desk *

His name is Harry Lloyd.

And after he shaves his mustaches he can be Jon Snow
