Almost certainly it should be that he was made in 1880 and is 126 years old today, not 126 years old WHEN he was made. You need to see Season 5 - #085 Fool for Love or you can click on the title and read my summary of what we know about William before, during and after he became Spike.

sorry i phrased it wrong but my question is still the same that was in 2000 or 2001 and if he was made in 1880 he should be 120 not 126. Even if you count his human years if he were 126 he would have had to have been 6 yrs old when he was made. It doesn't work out. I want theories on what could have happened to add the years.

hmm, an interesting little error in the continuity it seems? I can't remember the details of "The Initiative" when Spikes confrontation with Willow occurs, so i'll have to take your word for it about his age...

[markpud: I can't remember the details of "The Initiative"....so i'll have to take your word for it about his age...] Wrong, oh moderator. You never have to take anyone's word for it as long as Psyche: Buffy Transcripts exists. They have transcripts of the episodes that are about 99-100% accurate with only an occassional minor transcription error. According to their recording of #63 The Initiative, Spike laments "I'm only 126."

The way I've seen it explained away is that Spike just likes to say that, essentially. Either that or he can't do simple math. ![]() Then there's always the whole "Why in heck did dru sire him, specially when Angelus would made a much better sire and Spike did call him "Sire" in 'School Hard'." Heh...I'll be going to class now.

Well how i see t the reason Dru sired him was cos she could see something in him that others couldn't. Umm he is probably like the sane version of her. Probably the reason they stayed together so long. They could see the world in a more romanticised fashion than most people dru was the extreme of him. her ramblings and his failed peotry.
