Re: Creating religions

Should be able too.... it's quite good, but maybe a bit cliquey.

Re: Creating religions

That seems to be a recurring theme in most forums/chat rooms. It can be a bit of a barrier at times, unfortunately.

Oh well.

Re: Creating religions

Hehheh!

There was a whole load of fuss there quite recently because someone got upset over the cliqueness. It doesn't seem to be so bad here, probably because there's new people appearing all the time, whereas they don't too often in that place. It's silly, I've been there for three years but I still don't feel as if I fit in there that much.

Re: Creating religions

I've experienced the I don't fit in this at all feeling quite a few times before. Sometimes, people are too prejudiced to even warrant you a starting chance.

Not just on the internet either. Some people are just mean. Must be my purple doc martins and my odd tastes in music....

I'm ashamed to say... don't laugh... opera. Other stuff as well, including Elbow and Franz Ferdinand, but the opera bit is the bit people don't liike. What do you like?

Re: Creating religions

Opera is marvellous in my opinion. Their vocal abilities never cease to amaze me - such a good change from the otherwise dull sound image of today's pop & rock. Some of the vocalists in my favourite bands are former opera singers, in fact.

I primarily listen to metal, everything from regular heavy metal to norwegian black metal. Don't worry, though, I definitely don't have an affinity towards leather or lopsided crosses - though I could do with a haircut.

There are quite a few misconceptions about metal - much the same way there are with opera, I imagine. It is an amazingly complex and diverse genrè, the musical depth is only next to the older classical works of Beethoven, Tchaikovsky and Wagner. Pity there is so much musical prejudice. And not to mention redundancy - especially in today's popular music market.

Re: Creating religions

Pop music is all a load of crap, in my opinion.

I'm not at all familiar with metal- not something I've ever come across. but it sounds nice.

Re: Creating religions

Oh, it is. There is a lot, though, and it's easy to generalise the different artists and bands, which is a bad thing. It's all very diverse, so it's important to give a wide range of sub-genrès a try before you make up your mind.

There's light metal, and there's hard metal. Often, bands weave in and out of both terms loosely. One song might be not at all to your tastes, but their next might just be your next favourite.

If you're interested, I'm sure I could take you for a "tour".

Re: Creating religions

It was a programme on tv... it was so mean to kill people off. On that subject, how do you feel about killing characters off? I hate it, although sometimes, I confess, I kill surpless characters off just because they annoy me and aren't even useful anymore.
