How? I mean He seems to have enjoyed those days but he became a watcher... how did he ever come across the watcher council as the right guy for the job? Here's my theory... He was arrested by cops and since the council needed volunteers but the volunteers were scarce they decided to chose Giles. It was thier only choice. what's your opinion?

Luv the theory Asmiley :erm: :erm: !! Giles was really wierd when he started out, i mean, he was a right nerd which i bet was what they wanted!!! However, heres my theory

I reckon that Giles was attacked by a vamp, and he became a vamp. He was then cought by the, very secretive and not so popular, initative!! They did all these experiments on him and then they discovered this magical demony spell, they tried it out and *poof* Giles is Human again!!! The sum 1 from the watchers councl finds him and offer him a job as he knows so much about the slayer, but is sworn to secrecy!! And with his advancing years he's forgetting all that he knows!!!

What d'ya think??

Didn't Giles become a 'wild chlid' because his father was a wather and was pushing Giles to be one??

So my thoughts are that his dad was pushing him to follow in his footsteps..Giles was having none of it and became a rebal..then when he realised that being a watcher was his 'destiny'...he came good and became a watcher!!

GIles a vampire?.... a bit unrealistic don't you think? not that the show is completetly in tune with reality. interesting theory girl.

Yeah sorry...I didn't mean that he just woke up one day and said to himself.."Im gunna stop my rebal ways and become a watcher which is my destiney.."
Im not quite sure how it would have come about to be fair...I just thought (and correct me if Im wrong) that Giles said that his father was a watcher??
Oh I dunno..I watch so many its hard to keep track of them all.

I know what you mean. hmm I don't really remember him saying his dad was a watcher but then I'm not a quote queen either. So He could have.... hmm but I think that could be worked into a good storyline. what you said I mean.

To be honest...Im doubting myself now...sometime I have these ideas..then I can't remember if they are ideas or stuff that happened on Buffy!

Don't worry about me Im a little crazy...well I think that it should be a storyline...if its not already!!

Where did you come up with that one? I call it hard evidence to support my suppositions. Must be because I used to work for lawyers. Your honor, I present the only hard evidence that I know of:

Yeah thanks for posting that Obcooke...I was looking on your web site last night at the episode guide to try and find out where I had heard that from...but you have saved me the trouble of posting it.....and I like you site by the way..and I really suck at the buffy quiz on there...I need to go back to Buffy school

Tut tut to you people who forgot the Giles Ripper/Watcher story. I think when he killed his friend, he felt guilty and being a Watcher was a way repent for his wrong.
