Better late than never This should have been my token first post, but I'm afraid it shall be my seventh - but I'm certain you'll find it in you to forgive me for this little slip. As they say, better late than never. That also applies to my discovery of these forums; which ocurred sometime last night around 2400 hours Central European Time and marked the end of an era, and the beginning of another for Europe. Actually, no, that's all crock - though it is amusingly (in a twisted fashion, I suppose) coincidental with the new additions to the European Union. But anyway, I digress. ::glances at the template post:: I'm Andreas, and despite what some might believe - to my great disdain - regarding my name, I'm male. I do have a LiveJournal account which I update sporadically with random musings concerning the nature of rubbish, and other inconsequential items of noninterest. It can be accessed here: lj.hypeblog.com. To further add to my, ah, what shall I say, alluring and mystical charm (then again, that might just be me. I always was a bit of a narcissist) I'm a Norwegian, currently residing in Bergen, which lies on the western coast (if you look at Norway on a map, you'll discover that it isn't much else than just that: coastline). My great passion would be writing, which I have discovered I have some talent for and I am now seeking to develop it as best as I can. My current project (not to mention my first real project) resides now in its research phase, and I must say I'm greatly enjoying myself through creating a world in which to act out my science fiction. More on this on a later occasion. I might even bother you for some opinions, at some point. With that short summary of who I am, all that remains to say, again, better late than never: Pleasure to meet you all. -Andreas

Re: Better late than never Welcome - glad to have you aboard. Although, to be honest, I thought that Cuba was the last Communist state in the West. Just me, I guess. But, anyway, nothing wrong with living in a place that's all coast. I'm about two hours by car away from our own coast, and I don't get there often enough. But that's just me complaining because it's usually pretty cool weather there, and it's going to be about 94 F here today. Again - glad you decided to join us. ![]()

Re: Better late than never Actually, Norway was called the last communist state of the west in a newspaper article, I believe. Probably something regarding our welfare state. I never read it myself, I was just referred to it, and it struck me as humorous. ![]() -Andreas

Re: Better late than never Why, thank you. I am going overseas this August, and if someone gets it into their mind that Andy sounds like a marvellous substitute for a name which, I find, is woefully difficult to pronounce as a native english speaker I shall promptly go on a major killing spree. Keep an eye on your major tabloid.

Re: Better late than never Hi Andreas/Hypes, and welcome to the chronicles-network. ![]() Funny, we've actually got a few posting Norwegians here - but no one from Sweden - or Denmark. Why are we more popular at the top end of Scandinavia? Oh, well... ![]()

Re: Better late than never Yes, you'll be on my list when it comes to that. Have read some of your work, and I must say I'm impressed, I will definitely value your opinion. This entire network is filled with some pretty amazing talent, actually. I can't wait to have my own writing slaughtered. ![]() What I am doing at the moment, I suppose, is developing what raw talent I might find within. Apart from the few essays and novellae written quite a while back in high school, I've never really taken on writing. I have discovered, however, that it is something I greatly enjoy. And am not too bad at, either. For an amateur, that is. But that's certainly just me being a narcissistic bastard again. ![]() I'm tweaking and polishing the first chapter of my novel, Quantum God, at this time. It should probably be set for some critique later this week. At least, so I hope - I'm interested to hear your opinions on flow, character development, your impressions and et cetera. -Andreas
