| :laugh2:  :laugh2: :wink2: That's for sure!!! Although there are those who believe that because I talk about RDA on lists and forums, I really secretly fancy him like mad. But it's all just complete balderdash, because Cronus is my man! I wouldn't crawl over him to get to Mr Dean Anderson! ![]() |

| So tonight's the night. Goodbye Danny, and all that Jazz. . . . Quote:
No, we'd never see an SG-1 team-member die now, too many chances for that to happen in the past, when everyone else around them were dropping like flies. Much more likely to be the swirly-whirly lights instead! | |

| Okay..... well I hate to bring a little light of sanity into the beginning of what appears to be a 'weeping fest' but that had to be the daftest episode yet. They outdid themselves with it. I sat through the whole thing in total disbelief..... And guys.....what they were trying to tell you all, and failing miserably, was that Daniel.... the part of Daniel that made him Daniel, did not die. The body had no importance. The spirit ascended without a need for a corporeal body. It's all tied into things like reincarnation.... However... it was a load of absolute and utter claptrap. Now watch the demographics change as the Daniel lovers, mostly women it has to be said, all stop watching. On the brighter side..... Corin Nemec didn't do half bad in the context of the lousy and badly done episode. He held his side up rather well I thought. ![]() |

| Its a long time since I posted in this forum but this episode brings up too many issues. Most of these have been brought up by Anni and the others and make real interesting reading. Im not really sure how they are going to write around this in season 6, DJ isnt someone who could be simply replaced, although it will probably be the young official from the visited world who returned with the noquda (??) Some great episodes these season but now the magic mix has been broken will the appeal last? It would be a real shame to see this show go down the pan like so many others ( xfiles etc) Basically they have got a "get out of death by goau`ld" card now. Next time SG1 are in a tight spot guess what floating light bulb is gonna save the day, sad very sad. |

| Most religions believe that the spirit/soul goes on to a better place when we die. It doesn't stop anyone from grieving for the person who has died, who will be missed. Yes, Daniel has ascended to a higher plane/better place. However the remaining members of SG1 will naturally grieve for the friend they will no longer see - knowing he is still 'out there' is not the same. J |

| Without a doubt the team would grieve for their friend, I don't think that anyone would argue with that at all. But the weeping that I was referring to was that of the fans! I just wish they would stop doing the esoteric and metaphysical sh*t, because that stuff is unbelievable at the best of times....and takes what was originally a reasonably grounded show into the realms of fantasy. ![]() |

| It was an ok episode...in Michael's own words..I think they just chickened out so as not to get a back lash from all the Danny fans. I have not really got too much to say on the whole subject. I think it was a little on the sad side with Sam and Teal'cs goodbyes but not to the point of balling my eyes out. On a different note I thought like Anni that Corin Nemec did a really good job, I like him! ![]() |

| Almost completely lost for words! If that had been the first season, I probably would stop watching! I agree with all the previous comments. One good thing is that Jack has begun reading intelligence reports again -- He knows that SG3 brought back a Sarcophagus without having to ask Sam! But the ending was dire! Jack: So, see you around? Daniel: I don't know! Jack: Hey! Where are you going? Daniel: I don't know! Jack: Hey! Where is this show going? Daniel: I don't know! OK! I added a line or two there, but they just missed them out! |
