Nightmares taking over reality, what a scary thought!

It was interesting to see what some of the nightmares where. But whose nightmare was Buffy becoming a vampire?

I always assumed it was Buffy's. Everyone was living their own nightmare and remember at the beginning of the episode, Buffy has that dream of being cornered by the Master.

I thought that but then Giles said he didn't know she had dreamed of becoming a vampire and Buffy says she didn't. So either Buffy is lying or it is someone else's nightmare.

I never can let this kind of factual question rest. I looked at my transcript resources and retreived the following:

Giles: You never told me you dreamt of becoming a vampire.

Buffy: This isn't a dream.
------------------------

Just a slight misperception. Instead of denying that this was her dream, she denied that she was dreaming. An easy mistake.

i thought it was Giles' nightmare, or was that 'dead Buffy'?

this was a nicely done episode -- and i like the way it was 'solved' in the end ---

I liked this episode quite a bit, especially Buffy's nightmares. My favorite scene in the episode is when her father sits her down and tells her that she was the reason that he divorced her mom. As Buffy, Sarah Michelle Gellar excellently reacted to this false news, and I genuinely empathized with her. Action-wise, the final battle with the club-wielding guy was exciting, as was The Master's burying of Buffy. And the coolest effects shot for me was of the hole in the Sunnydale landscape showing the graveyard (though the swarm of bees was pretty cool too).
