| I think this was the first episode where I thought I could really start liking Spike. After he's kidnapped Willow and Xander and he starts to tell Willow about what happened with Dru, it was so ... I don't want to say pitiful but that's the word that springs to mind. ![]() Whatever anyone says about him, he's always been pretty perceptive. IMHO anyway. His observations about Buffy and Angel in this ep were right on even though they couldn't see it themselves. Cheers, |

| actually - Spike is very perceptive and is usually right about a lot of things -- he sees a lot of stuff that the rest of the 'cast' doesn't see --- they'll all be jabbering on and Spike will come in and point out the big glaring thing they looked over 100 x's --- he's brutally honest on most points -- which i love -- and he's Spike - what more can ya say?? ![]() |

| exactly -- ref: the scene in the magic shop while they're looking for the ingredients for the love spell -- he tells Angel and Buffy about their 'friendship' -- the 'Love's B*tch' speech -- and they refuse to believe him -- he's right tho --- (keep watching season 3 - it comes up - sort of) -- later on - in season 5 - he's right about other things too - specifically things about Buffy ---- |

| Continuing w/ the tradition --- Lines cut from "Lover's Walk" Quote:
I like it - mostly b/c I like to hear Spike sing, but it's a 'mood setter' - sets up a little bit - and it 'opens' the Spike stuff in much the way that it's closed -- w/ "My Way" ---- I think some part of this was cut: Quote:
This is missing too: Quote:

Again – removing something that is 'classic Buffy' – Oh – and this, that makes a later bit of Spike dialogue make much more sense: Quote:
Again, not a 'lot' is necessarily cut, but some of the lines are funny, or help 'clear up' lines later. A lot of work goes into these shows and the scripts, and the stuff they cut, to whomever is doing the cutting, may not 'seem' important, but they really are. (Or do the Mutant Enemy people do the cutting? Either way – it's still stupid) – not to mention they've only cut about 90 seconds. Sure, that's 3 commercials, but commercials for what? Cars you can't afford? Frozen meals you wouldn't touch w/ a 12-foot pole and protective clothing? A television program you wouldn't watch if someone paid you? The commercials, to me, aren't exciting. Sure they pay the bills, but don't they work better if they're selling something you want to buy? | |||||
