| Super Moderator | Re: Two Books: Head to Head Would it make any difference to anybody if I said that I already have "The Wood Wife" out of the library? Nah. Didn't figure it would. But it was a good try, wasn't it? *and in the peanut gallery, someone whispers, just loud enough so everyone can hear..."My, doesn't she get silly when she's up too late?"* |

| Brian G. Turner | Re: Two Books: Head to Head I'm going to put a vote in for Gaiman - I just got a cheque in so I can survive the next month, and perhaps should chill out with a read after the stress of the past couple of weeks. I'd like to read the Gaiman novel, and put it into perspective with regards to his comic writing. I like his story ideas, but I'm not actually confident of his prose-writing abilities, so it'll be interesting to read. Hm...just thought - when I bring the advertising in I should start a "library fund", perhaps, to help buy books for people in the book club... |

| Re: Two Books: Head to Head Brian I think you'll really like American Gods, especially since you like history because it's got a lot of mythology in it. It has a little darker attitude to it but is really amazingly written and really funny at times. Even though I am in the middle of the Steven Erikson series and I only read this book about 8 months ago, I would read it again if it were picked. |

| Re: Two Books: Head to Head "After the chosen book is posted (4/26 or 4/27) then we all can scramble to find a copy and read it by 5/10. That should give all interested parties ample time to acquire and read their copy. We'll begin the discussion on 5/10 or thereabouts." Voting is Done Then? |

Find a copy and read - we'll start discussions somewhere around the 10th of May. Enjoy! | |
