Survivors Anybody else remember this one? - about a group of people who survive (naturally ) some sort of plague and set about rebuilding civilisation. I seem to remember that it ran for about 3 years in the mid-seventies and was quite good for its time.

Re: Survivors Survivors was brilliant.. it was indeed a Terry Nation creation but he was pushed out later so not many were written by him in the end.. three series in the 70's.. repeated only once on UK Gold a good few years ago before they abandoned showing old classic british dramas in favour of vicar of dibley etc endlessly! First two series now available on dvd.. get them you wont be disappointed I think.. if enough people buy them they will go on and issue the last series. The first is the best, the middle not so good but the last picks up again.. is very very atmospheric.. for budget reasons they did not afford a soundtrack.. so its really moody and quiet a lot of the time as they wander around the countryside trying to survive first and then form communities second.. In the first series Abby Grant was played by Caroline Seymour, now better known for her Star Trek work.. Its quite the cult classic now with numerous websites.. http://www.survivorstvseries.com/ or http://www.bobmeades.supanet.com/ lots of info and links to more on those two sites for anyone interested

Re: Survivors One of the best Apocolyptic TV series made, though I think it tended to tail off. There were 3 series made from 1975. According to the September 2006 SFX magazine the BBC are in talks to resurrect it. It's understood that the BBC wants to make a new series of six hour-long episodes. The project is being overseen by Beeb producer Sarah Hogg. But a deal has yet to be finalised and the BBC is still in negotiations with Terry Nation's estate. Although Nation owns the rights to the series, he left after season one, going on to create Blake's 7.
