One of my favourite moments is in ROTK.
The battle has taken place and the remaining members of the fellowship are checking for those in battle. Pippin finds Merry on the battlefield, wounded and promises to take care of him. It's just such a touching scene and I love it to bits.
Also I wouldn't call it a favourite moment but it is definately one that touches me deeply.
Eomer finds Eowyn on the battlefield, unconcious, and cradles her in his arms. He lets out a heart wrenching scream that is just so full of pain that you can't help but feel it aswell.
Not only is it an amazing scene but it is a mark of how good an actor Karl Urban is but also how good Tolkein was as creating the characters and Jackson at bringing them to life on screen as you really do feel the raw pain of Eomer at the thought of having lost everyone he cared about. |
