Anyone else here read Grant Morrison's truly superb script-writing for Doom Patrol in the 1990s?

Basically, he took a vintage but somwhat childish concept - crime fighting robots - and turned them into one big headf*ck of a storyline full of the most bizarre characters I've encountered in lit. Not least Danny the Street, an inter-dimensional road that would appear at various times and places in reality, and with a camp personality address other characters in various ways, such as re-arranging letters on his shop windows. And, of course - Rhea. And remember the big twist at the end?

The journey they had was just plain superb - truly psychological fantasy, as was almost entirely stated by the very last issue Grant did when he pitted the work as a comic against the work as reality.

So - anyone else familiar with it?

I saw that DC tried to milk the series with a new writer after, but Grant Morrison had effectively finished the whole concept roundly when he left, and I'm not convinced that those after were able to bring anything truly alive after. Correct me if I'm wrong, though - just saw a little after, then lost touch with the comics world.
