Which of the series first made you a Star Trek fan? Which of the series first drew you int the 'Star Trek Universe'? Although I did watch reruns of TOS, it was TNG that really made me a big fan. Yes, some of the earliest episodes had some corny moments, but I really liked all the characters and the storylines continued to improve & improve... I thought TNG did a geat job practically reinventing the Klingon race, and I was very impressed when the Borg first appeared. I am also a big Piard fan, and wasn't the charcter of Data just great?! His character introduced a lt of really interesting ideas about AI....lots of room for discussion there.. I loved DS9 right from the start, and I thought the writers did an excellent job fleshing out alien cultures, including the Ferengi, Bajorans, Cardassians, etc. The pilot for DS9 is still one of my all-time-favorite Trek episodes! It took me a little bit longer to warm to the VOY crew, but I'm also a big fan of this series! And I think it was great that a ST series finally had a female captain! What opinions does anyone else have? little star :star:

TNG was the best done series, But I'm old enough to have enjoyed the original series. There is no better, or more original charactor than Mr. Spock. Is there anyone on the planet who doesn't know what a vulcan is now? Voyager was great too, it made women equal and powerfull. :alienooh: :smiliea: :smiliea: :smiliea:

I am also old enough to remember TOS and it hooked me. And there was a lot of competition then, Doctor Who, Lost in Space, Land of the Giants and even dear old Gerry Anderson's puppets. Did anybody notice the similarity between the robot in Fireball XL5 and Robby in Lost in Space? Or am I dating too many people?

Okay - jumping in (i think this only my 2nd post in the ST forum area -- got tied up in Highlander) -- i loved the original Trek series - got hooked b/c my dad was a fan - i loved Bones! he was the best -- it took me a while to warm up to TNG at first - don't really know why, probably b/c it was new and different -- DS9 took a while too - something about not moving around the galaxy sounded boring, but i picked it up (and it was about that time that stupid ABC decided to dump it to the worst time slot in history - something like 0100 on Sat morn - argh!) -- Voyager i was never able to get into -- i watched the pilot and hated it immediately - i did see a couple eps w/ Q, but really couldn't get myself psyched about the show -- don't really know why ---- so, which one made me a fan? guess it was the original!

Enterprise, NExt Generation. That made me like it sooooo much. Then Voyager and Deep Space 9. I live to love Star Trek! I love all the jargen they speak, and also all the encounters they come up with! And, of course the phrase.... "Let it be so." ~ Picard!
