Amidala vs Padme

Okay, I loved Amidala in episode one, but the transition to Queen to undercover handmaiden senator I wasnt impressed with,
I know it was meant to be a cover but I didnt like the fact that the charecter changed compleatly, I understand the makeup and costume part...because Amidala was figure head and that it was ceremonial,
BUT
The attitude, the accent, the priorities and essentially the whole charecter changed

it bugged me

I just watched Phantom Menace again the other day, I noted it as well. I wonder if the attitude and accent was some sort of requirement of office?

Actually, though, I wonder how much of it was the ceremonial issue. When you see Amadala in garb compared with Amidala incognito in Phantom Menace then there seems to be a definite sense of difference. I've not watched Attack of the Clones recently enough to note how well the character building of the first extrapolates into the second - or not, as the case may be.

Yeah, its a good point about ceremony but she was supposedly elected as queen also so why should she change that much, I know I am reading to much into it but it just didnt seem right the continuity of it all annoyed me...Oh well just a grumble from a disappointed fan
