| Movie: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire I have been waiting till the DVD came out to fully form my opinion of this movie because I needed to see it again in a comfortable environment. Normally I love the Harry Potter movies and have found no fault with them so far. They have been playful, energetic and a good representation of the books. The acting has been good and has gotten better as they go. They have done a good job of getting the essence of the books into the film as well as some good meaty action scenes, especially where quidditch comes in. Here is the fly in the milk - Goblet of fire. The opening scene where Hermione is waking Harry and Ron up I thought was horribly done. Hermione was stiff and Harry didn’t have me convinced he was waking up from a bad dream. Then I thought Hermione’s acting all the way through the film was lacking in feeling. She was completely unconvincing in her role in this one. The one time she had any feeling was when Harry and Ron where having their chat after the dragon challenge and she shows her frustration by exclaiming,”Boys”. Harry’s performance in this one I found indifferent. On the up side though the Weasley Twins were hilarious with the little quips of humor that lightened the mood in some much needed places. Moaning Myrtle and Harry in the bathroom scene had me in stitches. Moaning Myrtle is the kind of girl all teenage boys abhor. Ron did a great job of acting like a teenager with his sulking, jealousy, getting over it all and worship of his sports idol. Cedric was perfect in his boy next door role, and they did a good set up for Ginny to be a more eye catching figure. All round I thought this film was lacking in color, and enthusiasm apart from a few scenes. I sincerely hope the next movie installment is much improved from this one.
