Re: Did you cry? (be honest)

Here's one film where EVERYBODY cries in a couple of scenes:

'Crash'

Especially when the racist cop goes into the burning car to save the lady he...well, I don't want to give the whole thing away.
My apologies for the previous post. I hit the wrong key there.

Re: Did you cry? (be honest)

Nah I didn't cry, although Boromir's death is quite emotional (I love Sean Bean, so it's mostly him I feel sad for..."aw, no, you're not going to be in the next two films...you poor guy!" (although he does sneak into ROTK extended)). And Bernard Hill's death ...sorry, Theoden's death...I love that part, because the resignation on his face when he sees the Witch King coming..."Ah, crap, here we go..."
The endings not particularly sad, although Merry and Pippin's little faces, bless them!

Re: Did you cry? (be honest)

I have to admit I cried my eyes out when Denethor tells Faramir he wishes he had died in Boromir's stead and the Faramir, to prove himself, rides thet useless mision to capture Osgiliath. That always makes me emotional.

Re: Did you cry? (be honest)

No, i didn't cry when Frodo was stabbed by the Witch King of Agmar, Gandalf fell, Boromir died, Theodin died, and the cool White City gaurds fell. Instead i burned with rage and vengeance and, believe me, cussed up a storm. I laughed at each instance an evil orc, thing or person died and the army if darkness was defeated!

Re: Did you cry? (be honest)

Are you kidding? I cry every time I watch ROTK. I really cry when I hear the song "Into The West", because of the young film maker who was the inspiration for Fran Walsh when she wrote it. He was very young when he passed away of leukemia. Also, the fact that Sean Astin's little girl got to play Elenor Gamgee at the end is so touching. When she runs up to greet her daddy, the love between Sean and his daughter is evident. Plus, she can say "I was in Return Of The King with my dad." How cool is that?

Yep. I cry every time I watch it. Even when I tell myself, don't cry this time. Don't get your eyes all wet and sore. But the "you bow to no one" line gets me every time.

Re: Did you cry? (be honest)

The first time I saw RotK I was sad but that was mainly due to "Thats all, there is no more" kinda thing. Other then that no.

Haven't ever read the books, i cried not knowing that Gandalf was coming back. i was a bit surpised at myself seeing as i don't cry but it came naturally when frodo and the rest were crying oustide the mines of "Moria".

Re: Did you cry? (be honest)

Why did you put little things around the word Moria?

I had read the book so I knew what was happening.

Re: Did you cry? (be honest)

I only shed a tear when Frodo was shouting at Sam to leave him on the mountain. The films were full of brilliant emotional moments, very well done. I just rarely cry at films (probably have only at 2 or 3).

And I never cried in Crash, although I did laugh quite a lot

Re: Did you cry? (be honest)

I didn't cry, but I was damn near to it. Though the movie had what I called "multiple endings syndrome", every 'ending' was equal in emotion to me. The best was when they sailed away to the Undying Lands. I would've liked the ship to be a bit bigger, but oh well.

Re: Did you cry? (be honest)

I did cry at various moments throughout the movies but I think I actually cried not long after the very first movie, fellowship of the ring began because I had been waiting for the movie, although not expecting much and started to think this is going to be good, so maybe it was more relief that it looked like they were going to do a good job.
I cried when Bilbo left and when he and Frodo meet up again, actually I think like littlemissattitude I cried all the way through all three.......
