Just finished this one - and I liked it quite a bit -- I like how JKR manages to describe / discuss all these seemingly insignificant things throughout the novel, then suddenly, somewhere near the end, all of them come together and it all fits... (working on "HP4" now -- might take me a bit longer on that one)

Uh --- dunno if I'd go that far --- Jim Butcher spins one heck of a yarn - and Harry Dresden is my current fave Harry (not that I don't like Harry Potter) -- but, I'll give JKR her props -- her stories are very interesting -- question -- are the audiobook versions any good? I've seen 'em just dunno if I wanna invest in 'em ---

well, I've already read them - and here's the thing -- it depends on HOW they're done - ie: Jim Butcher's "Storm Front" was read by James Marsters - and that man has talent pouring out from every possible angle, and he is just the consumate actor - it was brilliant - and I got the story from listening to him --- but I can get the story from reading too -- either way -- I just wanted to know if the guy reading the books did a good job - ie: does he 'act' it or just read it??

I haven't heard the audios myself, but my stepmom says they're fantastic (didn't lend me them though ). From what I understand they're more performed than just read. Maybe you could find out at amazon or barnes and noble--also, checking them out at your local library (if it carries them) is a great money saver especially if you're not quite sure if you want 'em (you might even be able to duplicate them for a fraction of the --very exspensive--cost).
