Could be (American sentiment), won't deny it.
Direction I won't speculate on, but performance I will. I don't really care for Mathew Broderick's style but in this movie his character just seemed "right" to me. On the other hand, I still can't get that whole scene set off by Denzel's lines out of my head:
"TEAR IT UP! TEAR IT UP!"
Might just be me but I thought it was great.
