Anyways.... I've read several versions of that particular fairy tale. In the original there were actually 9 to 12 princesses and the guys weren't demons.

And the king was able to marry off the whole lot of his daughters to rich princes.

Oh so convienent I thought.

Hey it has to be convenient in order to be a modern fairy tale. If it was the original ancient fairy tale it would be much more gruesome but the edges have been taken off with age.
I bet in the older versions daniel would have had to kill every one in order to save the princesses.
