I have heard from non quotable sources on the net. That while farscape is popular in the USA, Canada, UK, japan and South America. It is getting lousy rating in austraila. Where most of the cast is from and where it is flimed. As if you didn't know.

Anyone confirm/deny.

I'm in oz and while I don't know what the actual ratings are like, I can tell you that ch9 is doing their darndest to get farscape taken off (very strange I know considering thats its partly a ch9 production) anyway at the moment farscape is being shown only in 4 states at 5pm on a saturday arvo timeslot Which means that we a) miss whole episodes due to too much cutting and b) get the ones that we are shown cut to tiny little pieces.

I for one think that if they don't want to show it they should put it on late at night at least where they don't need to be cut.

Anyway, sufficed to say I believe that the rartings are fine, but ch9 does not.

When the season premiered last july, it was put up against the opening ceremony of te olympics, how does ch9 expect it to get any ratings like that. Then they claimed the ratings sucked and they took it off

u should getdecnt tv and come to england

unlike america im suprised they even get to watch tv .... there tv has more advert in one single program than we do on one station running all day !!!!

mmhmm yeah I know I should get better TV, oh well, I'm buying a new computer with a DVD so I'm gonna buy the epys, it'll take me a while, but I'll get there in the end

I read in an earlier thread that the channel showing Farscape originally thought it was a children's show and put it in a time slot for children's viewing. (?)

Yep thats about the sum of it

the losers at ch9 decided that they would make all the episodes all g rated, regardless of what rating they originally got given, so inevitably, they are all cut to shreds

They could negotiate with Henson's people and a different station to go to; it is clear that ch9 didn't know what type of show it purchased the rights to, and it would be in Henson's best interest to find a channel that would prosper from showing Farscape to its fans.
