Gambit

Right now I have to say my Favorite X men is the Rajin Cajun Gambit. I would like to see him in the sequel. However I liked him best as a solo act. The recent now defunct "Gambit" Series had enough going on with New Son, The Pig, The Thevies and Assasins Guild. That the X men were hardly needed. I would a movie about that even more.

If they wanted, they could use Gambit's role in the X-Men sequal as segway into his own independant movie.

...though this likely won't happen.

*pokes the very dead thread*

Gambit didn't show up in X2. Maybe if we are lucky, they will write him into X3 and maybe include the part about the massacre of the Morlocks... just to add in some nice angst ^_^

I wonder if they realized that this set of movies is probably going to turn into an ongoing set of movies....

Holy Resurected Old Posts Batman!

Hehe

I believe that in X-Men 2 gambit was supposed to be one of the un-named kids they rescue. He didn't show up in X-3 (which I was pretty dissapointed with).

I agree that I wonder where spin-offs will go for the X-franchise. Given they have already talked about Wolverine movies.

Re: Gambit

It is more than just talked about a Wolverine it is in the pipeline as a prequeal to X-men and I won't be surprised if there is more spin offs from this very lucritive franchise

Yep - Wolverine is on the way in 2008 (b/c Hugh is mucho busy in 2007 alreayd) and there's hub-bub of a Magneto movie... young Magneto.

But, yes - there should be a Gambit! Even for just a bit - something - eh - give him his own movie - it'd be harder to have a Gambit movie w/o Gambit - but I think they might even try that!

Re: Gambit

If they made a gambit movie, i suppose it would be alright. Though he couldn't have a love interest since the writer of the x-men movies already botched that one up, Iceman + Rogue.

they're kids right now, so i don't see much of a problem there. gambit, as i saw him, was the perfect deboinarir salve that the injured rogue needed. but i'd not like that as a focus for a gambit film. i'd like to see more about gambit and his strugles with himself and facing his inner demons. then again, considering what was done to constantine and electra and daredevil, there just isn't the market for a gritty realistic character with genuine problems that his super powers can't save. or we'll jsut get spider man revisited and ANGST (i hate angst).
one of the reasons i shudder everytime i think of people like deadshot or suicide squad being made into films. *shudder*

Re: Gambit

I would love to see a Gambit film. Totally gutted that he wasn't in any of the x-men films seeing as though he's one of the more popular ones.
Just bought all of the old cartoon series from ebay to get my Gambit fix!

Dunno think I like the comic version abit more. Too bad no psylocke around to lock out Rogues powers so she can get busy with him. =P

Re: Gambit

Heck - all I know about Gambit I learned FROM the cartoon series! I really like the character, I just don't know any more about him than what I learned in the cartoon... well and the few snippets of him in the X-Men Legends video game.

I'm just getting into some of the X-Men comics and there hasn't been a lot of Gambit. As a matter of fact - someone should poke Joss Whedon and make sure he puts a Gambit in Astonishing...

Re: Gambit

If I remmeber correctly there was a storyline about Gambit revisiting his home back in the bayou that was I think in the cartoon and I think there could be a storyline around him in the deep south with him overcoming the predjudice that abounded

Yeah - something about a band or guild of thieves that he used to belong to. That's about all I can remember of it - I only saw it once.
