have to say i'm very impressed at the arguements being made in this thread folks! My 2cents.. There are a lot of similarities between thir characters as you have shown, both seem to be motivated by a desire to put right the wrongs of their past.. Does this make them the same?? Angel is tortured by the memories of the countless brutal acts performed by Angelus "with a song in his heart", and now strives to be a force for good, guided by TPTB. For Giles, the knowledge that he did certain questionable things in his youth may have motivated his decision to join the watchers, but I dont think it affects him on a daily basis like it does with Angel. Of course it came back to haunt him when Eyghon came to Sunnydale.. But on the whole, Giles' motivation has been different to Angels for that reason..

I agree wit u Mark. Very interesting arguements! But i fink in the end there are too many holes in the similiarities between Angel and Giles. They are two different people who have and will lead two different paths...

Hi guys, love the debate. Over in the season 6 forum we're discussing Willow being the big bad (someone read it somewhere I think). That remark about Willow being gay...she's turned gay. So would it make sense for her to turn bad? Vampyre.
