Joss admits to fake spoilers

Joss Whedon has admitted to letting some fake spoilers out, as he tries to trace leaks from within...

Quote:
Can no-one be trusted? Joss Whedon and Marti Noxon have admitted to spreading false Buffy and Angel spoilers.
Their comments to SCI FI Wire back up claims by Tim Minear we reported last week that some of the spoilers currently circulating (mostly propagated by Ain't It Cool News) are totally wrong.

'We're trying to track down where the genuine leaks were, so there's stuff out there that's pure hokum.' said Marti.

Joss himself is well known to place huge importance on keeping story and script secret right up until broadcast.

'There's some accuracy there; luckily, not total accuracy,' he said. 'But we have a lot of leaks. We've had horrible leaks on Angel, and I resent it. I feel so strongly ... about the concept of surprise being so important. ... This desire for insider knowledge is so overwhelming with people, and I'm not sure why.'

According to the same source, however, Joss did confirm the following:
  • Willow will assume more of a leadership role, and return to her computer-geek roots
  • Willow and Tara's relationship may undergo changes
  • Anya will take over the Magic Shop in the wake of Giles' return to England
  • No new Slayer will be called as a result of Buffy's death - the line now goes through Faith
  • Amy will be deratted this season (TWW comment - we'll believe it when we see it)
