| Personally, I love and miss Joxer. I also think that had Jett and Jace been on Xena as much as Joxer, people would probably view them differently. IMO, Joxer was the one true friend they had. He never gave up on them, always supported them, was the only person who kept searching for them when everyone else thought he died. So noble... I'm going to start crying again... |

| {{{{{{EWLYN}}}}}}} You cry and I'm gonna start to cry! I really liked Joxer,he was funny and could be very sweet like in Soul Possesion when he gave Xena the flower for something new and he said he was the thing that was blue! Joxer doesn't get the credit he deserves! |

| If you're really interested in the legacy of the Raimi/Tapert/Campbell dynasty, you *must* get Bruce Campbell's autobiography, "If Chins Could Kill: Confessions of a B-Movie Actor." He goes into great detail on the early years with the "Detroit mafia." Interestingly, the (semi) success of AoD was what made Universal offer them a gig at producing a slot for the old "Action Pack" syndicated series. Universal wanted a TV version of Conan, but there were problems getting the rights, so they suggested Hercules instead. Raimi/Tapert said "OK, but we'll do it *our* way" which meant just like AoD - with a lot of comedy, a lot of anachronistic dialogue, a lot of over-the-top camera work, a lot of cartoonish violence, and incredible special effects done relatively cheap via any number of tricks (like mainly shooting centaurs from the waste up, using "forced perspective" for the giants, etc. |

| About guest spots in Spiderman There were taken from a transcript or a recnt intewview with Sam. Question: Is Bruce Campbell making a cameo in the movie? Raimi: Yes. I love Bruce Campbell. And he's also a knucklehead and an imbecile. The audience enjoys pictures that Bruce Campbell is in proportionate to the amount of damage he sustains. Bruce is in this picture. He's a little bit bigger role than a cameo. Well, it is a cameo role. And he's really great in it. It's funny. Question: Will we see Ted Raimi in the film? Raimi: Yes, Ted's in the film, too. My mother made me give him a part in the picture. He's funny, though, and did a good job. For a full copy of the transcript~ http://network54.com/Hide/Forum/mess...geid=996817952 |

| Joxer's fate Ya sure you want to know? OK, deep breath. SPOILER SPACE FOR THE LAST PART OF SEASON 5, AND ALL OF SEASON 6 * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * OK, not sure if you realized it, but soon after Xena's daughter was born, Xena got into it with the Olympian gods, and ended up getting put to sleep (like in a deep freeze sort of spell thing) along with Gabrielle for 25 years. So when they woke up, obviously everyone thought they had died or disappeared 25 years earlier. Joxer had married Meg, fathered at least 5 (!) children with her, including one hunky young stud named Virgil, who wanted to be a poet (surely after hearing his father's stories of Gabrielle.) Joxer and Meg had opened a restaurant that was like the first Planet Xena, filled with Xena and Gab memorabilia. But - he was the one person who had never given up looking for them, not until old Argo died. Everyone: Awwwwwwwww. Can't you just see the gradually aging Joxer sadly searching the world for his missing friends for years and years, in vain?BUT. Xena's daughter Eve had been raised by Caesar Augustus, and she had turned into a cruel, evil Roman dominatrix named Livia, and was under the influence of...who else? Ares. So various plot elements and devices transpired, and ultimately, Livia was about to kill the helpless Gabrielle, and the elderly Joxer ran towards her trying to save her, only to be stabbed - and killed - by Xena's daughter. He died as he had lived - the truest friend Xena and Gab ever had. There was one really classic comic moment, when a fight breaks out, and he tries to draw his rusty sword, muttering "Now you'll taste the steel of Joxer the Mighty..." while his son rushes past, saying "Don't worry Dad, I'll take care of them!" There was also one really touching scene, where Joxer confesses to Virgil that all those stories about him defeating Callisto.... were really Xena. And all those stories about defeating the Bacchae? errr... that was Xena too. And Virgil looks at his father and simply says "Sounds like you and Xena had some great adventures together." And Joxer takes his son's hand and concedes "Yes we did, son, yes we did." Awright, this is not good - I'm a grownup and everything, and I just had to stop typing for a bit to find a tissue to wipe my eyes just now. ![]() |

| Actually, in a way Joxer saved the lives of both Gabrielle and Livia (who later reformed, turned good, and went back to using the name Eve.) When Livia was about to kill Gabrielle, first Joxer disguised himself as a Roman soldier, and when she announced she's going to kill Gab, he interrupts, saying: Quote:
So by this little delay, Xena and Virgil arrive just in time to save Gab. Otherwise, she would have just been killed as they rode up. But as Livia starts to kill her anyway, and Xena starts to throw her chakram, that's when Joxer gets in th way, and is killed. But had he not gotten in the way, Xena would surely have killed her own daughter, because the night before, we saw her admitting that she knew Livia had to die. Joxer died, so that both Gab and Eve might live. ![]() | |
