| What ever happened to Ewok adventure? Does anyone remember it? It seemed to come to cinema not too long after Return of the Jedi - but I haven't heard of it since. What happened? What was Ewok Adventure, and why has it disappeared? Was it meant as a quick cash-in on kids that failed, and hence why it's been hidden in the closet? Or was it generally an awful film and binned on advise of the critics? what happened to Ewok Adventure?? And did anyone ever go and see it? |

| Re: Ewok adventure I saw it on video as a little kid, but all I remember is a space cruiser in the jungle and some big monsters. That and watches that told each member of a human family how the others were doing. There was also this fuzzy little alien that could run really fast. As near as I can tell, this little boy's family was killed in a battle and the kid goes off with Wicket the Ewok, and they encounter many wierd beasts until the fuzzy, very fast alien leads them to a hermit with a space cruiser that won't fly, until all the Ewoks band together and fix it for some reason. |

| Re: Ewok adventure Oh now I see... Never went to see it at the cinema, but did have the unfortunate happenstance of coming across it on video (you remember those things, big chunky plastic thingies), and gawd it was awful. It only added to my misery and my hatred of nasty furry things. They get stuck between the teeth, very annoying. ![]() |

| Re: Ewok adventure As far as I know there were 2 Ewok films. The first was called Caravan of Courage and the second was called....something something...or was it the other way around? The first one had this Swiss family Robinson bunch crashing on Endor. The parents got abducted by a huge beastie, so the kids teamed up with the Ewoks to go rescue them. It was a mixture of magic and sci-fi. The second one had the family and the ewoks getting attacked by a tribe of no-goodniks. The little girls family gets massacred, as do the Ewoks, those Ewoks that survive get taken captive. (Odd, seeing as how well they stood up to Imperial Storm Troopers and Armored Transports) The girl and Wicket somehow rescue everyone with the help of a grumpy old man. Then said old man and girl fix and old spaceship and leave Endor. Oh and theres a dodgy Sorceress that looks like Morticia Adams too. I have no idea when this is set in the timeline of the Star Wars universe, but it mustve been shortly before or after Return of the Jedi. Either that, or Wicket is a retarded Midget among Ewoks. I liked the cartoon. |

| Re: Ewok adventure Quote:
As I recall, here in the States, the Ewok film was originally broadcast on television rather than making the rounds of movie theatres, which may account for the differences in story and production values. I remember seeing the thing, but I can't remember anything about it besides the fact that it just wasn't up to the standards set by the original films. | |

| Re: Ewok adventure I see you 'rebel scum' ;-)))) are scraping the barrel's rock bottom here... ...ok then tell me....anyone remembers the Star Wars Christmas Holiday special? Laden with delicacies like wookie 'holoporn', Chewie's family (OHGAWD!!!), and a 'spaced out' Carrie Fisher (poor lass!) actually 'singing' the SW main theme? Hm???? No wonder George Lucas pretends it has never been made.....;-)))) Admiral Meltan Hralgo. |

| Re: Ewok adventure Hello there, you most magnificent moderator, I have registered this very day, I am a nice guy from Genoa, Italy, who had his life changed forever when my parents took me (on a warm July 1977 evening) to the summer cinema of the mountain resort we were spending holidays in to see 'STAR WARS'. I was barely three yo then and that experience transfixed me (it was the first movie with 'real' actors I remember to have seen, too...and in the first days after it I believed Chewie was real! LOL) I am glad that my first contributions to the forum have raised your interest, though I admit that the 'subject' was perhaps not in line with the majestic epic we all istinctively connect with 'STAR WARS'. But all in all, that cursed special exists and I think all true SW fans should know about it...it adds to the thing in a way...SW is so GOOD...that, even sprouted up some bafflingly bad offshoots now and then. BTW, I am trying to download episodes from the 'DROIDS' animated series...can you remember about it? I watched them when they were aired here in Italy...couple of years after RotJ...in a dark age where my craving for everything SW seemed to have to remain unfulfilled...I thought them good, back then, after all, Boba Fett appeared in some of the first episodes! Ok, will keep you informed, just one last thing, my online name is taken from the Top-ranking badass dude in my up-and-running Star Wars Roleplaying campaign... ...see you in space, Admiral Meltan Hralgo. |
